THE ZIG ZAG IS AN OLD DESIGN FROM THE 1800s. IT FAILED BECAUSE IT IS DOUBT FULL IF ONE DOESNT HAVE REAL FIREARM DESIGN KNOWLEDGE. ONLY A FEW IN THIS WORLD HAS THAT. SWEDENS RIFLE AK5 IS THE WORST DESIGNED GUN IN THE WORLD. NOTHING COMES CLOSE TO IT BEING A TOTAL FAILURE.

is it officially shelved? im currently building this thing and that would be bit discouriging!
@HorrorTactico Жыл бұрын
@@steinmetz3336 How are you building something that never worked? The pressure destroyed the thing every single time, maybe it would work with birdshot?
@steinmetz3336 Жыл бұрын
@@HorrorTactico on the website it wasnt advertised as a fail. and i still think it doesnt take much to make it work. you can prevent the revolver drum from falling out by adding a spring to the holding rod. as well as a spring assisted rod that catches on the receiver end. you can add some rubber buffers here and there to absorb some of the recoil. you can make the handle frame out of metal or cast aluminum and have it to absorb some of the energy by connecting it to the receiver plate. but since shooting this thing is not very legal where i live, i have no good way of testing it. but if i where to shoot it, i would have to use homemade black powder, wich isnt nearly as powerfull as modern smokeless powder. i think that alone would do the trick.

How would 3D printing hold up to a blow-forward-barrel semi-auto action rather than compression under recoil I wonder... How about considering an easier form of mass production, plastic mold injection maybe?
@Liberator12k2 жыл бұрын
Mixed bag. With enough investment, anything is possible.. but it also limits how many people can participate and replicate at home. I'm interested in production at different scales, but focusing on the home user for now. As I like to say, something you can do in an apartment with a girlfriend. You can do a dozen or more a day with this method. That's enough for a basic home defense load out
@ethanbrenneman42272 жыл бұрын
Stupid question but if that 8000 psi is an issue because of the way that all comes together why not either make the barrel shift back and form a sort of seal or have the shell sleeve shift forward if it locks into place then it shouldn't have as much back spray... right?
@Liberator12k2 жыл бұрын
My later videos show attempts at gas sealing.. honestly not enough success to pursue too much further. Moving barrel adds a lot of complexity

The OpenSCAD source is in the repo.
@ragingroosevelt2 жыл бұрын
Oh dang! I hadn't realized you were designing it in OpenSCAD. I've been trying to learn it and it's been tricky to get some forms that feel "finished" or "production" (eg fillets, etc). Any tips? Plugins that you like? I recognize the vitamins plugin but other other ones. I've been using the customizer for the models I've made but nothing like the maturity you have for your organization scheme. Do you stream your modeling sessions? That'd be pretty interesting to watch. I've been using the % callout to set transparency but it's neat to see the more user-friendly way you're doing that. I'll have to try to incorporate that in some of the stuff I build.
@Liberator12k2 жыл бұрын
I don't use MCAD because I'm trying to keep this all public domain, and not catch the herpes of GPL. So there's a lot of "Not invented here" work done in the project, including vitamins. Not sure if anyone's done it my way, but I use lookup tables to make it easy to change specs. My Chamfer.scad is bloated and needs to be broken up into chamfered solids, holes, edging cutters, and fillets... but it's all there in Shapes/Chamfer.scad I don't stream because my internet is shitty 10/1 DSL, but I've recorded a few session for that purpose. I've been trying to do more of it, if just to get more mindshare on the 12k :) OpenSCAD spooks people. I've been doing software dev for like, 20 years - so this is second nature. Just not a lot of 'best practices' in OpenSCAD, so I've kinda bolted on my own. Combined with Make, I've got a pretty nice little dev environment now. Swing by the Matrix chat if you wanna chat 12k+openscad - lots of cool shit in there IMO.
