It's the lid lock. I had nothing to lose so I took mine apart. I pulled the motor and little pcb out and ohmed all the connections and couldn't find anything wrong. Then I noticed some grease from the sliding switch had migrated over to the row of solder connections and shorted two of them together. Could a blob of grease covering two pins be enough to cause this problem? So I took a Q tip and some alcohol and cleaned all the grease off the pins, put it back together, plugged it into the control board and........it works!

U have to hold the button for 3 sec it says hold to start on the washer

OK, solved mine... it was the lid lock not communicating on my washer, but doing the exact same thing... I'd check the door switch on it.
