3:33 Are you sure about speed I mean in todays Commercial Airflight models is not about speed its about efficiency per Person to maximize Profit. I guess it would become even Bigger than the C2 let alone the Carrack/hammerhead, with the best fuel efficiency and hopefully enough legroom, the reason why I prefer Airbus 380 Emirates it is just so spacious. Examples would be A380 "refresh" or B747-8 or more modern ones from Airbus. Whereas Concorde the speed optimized Airplane is no more. Remember in an A380 the amount of passengers is 853 and think about your legroom and bar yes the A380 has a bar on board and so much more. Why I compare it to the big airplanes well its the biggest airplane in game.

@@googlepixelutai8310 well, that's a fair question. I'll try to answer that from the game's perspective since the reason for commuting in SC is mainly to reposition yourself. In a game, wasting time is wasted gametime and also lost revenue (UEC), hence I mentioned time. But, if your plan is to hop into a bed, log off, and log back into the game at your destination then I guess speed isn't so much an issue as your safety and security (nobody wants a surprise log in at a hospital). But, this is also where I could argue that speed creates safety since less time spend in open space means less chance of encountering random hostiles.

@@sirberticus3815 Thats a great answer and a fair point and youre right but I ask myself do you really would steer a passenger jet yes, but when your starting point is dubai, and your destination is USA maybe new york(by now I think there should be also security on board in case the pilot is the threat), would you steer your passenger plane through ukrain or War territories or thunderstorms where you could be easily shot down or would you avoid it and make the travel even longer by going around it. I cant really see why you would lose UEC because airlines make the tickets more expensive. Dont nail me on that but if I remember correctly when the Airplane is full of ppl the airline has to fly the plane I think it was around 10 times to make profit so it has repaid itself.

Every seat needs an escape pod and an optional bed, neither of which are on a real jetliner today. So technically there are 120 (3x40) places to sit or lie down. And besides, today's jetliners don't have an entire habitat and recreation area for the crew either. and finally, NPCs can't be as flexible as real humans when it comes to leaning over seats and squeezing past galley carts.

@@sirberticus3815 I understand and I'm not comparing this to a typical jetliner; just seems to me space-wise for a passenger liner, its more of a cargo hauler than passenger hauler. My original comment was more of an observation than a critique.

I love this and it's great to hear about my most-anticipated ship! I'm glad I rediscovered the ship-specific sections on the forums! I wish it were possible for the passenger seat areas and/or the VIP beds to be ejectable from the sides of the ship as escape pods. With the walkways being 2x wide since NPCs won't step into the side aisle to wait for each other (yay, AI), maybe part of that could be the hidden barrier for the escape pods to close off? That'd also free up a lot of space on the main deck by the engineering. Seems like there's some major SOL if someone goes downstairs and their pod is already gone, unless the crew-only doors open up to let them rush to the other side when the ship's in the "danger zone". It also seems like the lockers by the bathrooms should be extensions of the bathrooms, to add sink, for someone to brush their teeth, fix their appearance in the mirror, freshen up after meals or a few drinks. Hopefully no million-mile high club, though... Hah! With the side docking ports at an angle, does that mean the ship is going to have to be angled in order to be properly docked? I'm seeing this challenge on other ships with angled docking ports. With the lift storage in the neck, would that gain capacity if the pathway were through the middle rather than around the sides?

If they do keep the design it’d be cool if they tied it into lore, making the Genesis be one of Crusaders first ships hence the design. Either way I pray this ship lives up to its concept. An atrocious waste of space. I saw you post this on reddit and your reason for having so few seats was that NPC's have a hard time navigating around eachother. That begs the question: why would you plan for something that's going to be fixed? That's like designing a gun to have one giant magazine because reloading sometimes doesn't work right now. It's non-sensical. A lot of the other design elements are highly questionable as well, like having VIP sleeping pods tucked away down on a cargo/engineering deck. And why are there suit lockers for VIP's? What are they going to be changing into? Suit lockers are a utility item, i.e. engineering or combat. The genesis is a commercial airliner, your passengers are people traveling from one city or spaceport to another. There's a lot more issues but I think you get the idea. I suggest you start from scratch after doing a lot more research into design and architecture. Also, this might be a hot take, but the Genesis shouldn't have escape pods. I can understand combat or combat adjacent ships having escape pods. It even makes sense on luxury cruise ships where passengers are afforded every possible amenity, but on a commercial airliner it just doesn't work. Maybe something like escape rafts could fit, but even then it seems there'd just be too many people.

I'm sorry to say this. What a stupid deck design. The objective of any airline and of course of any space line intended for passengers, should be to maximise the passenger load to lower the price of each ticket. If you carry so few passengers, the price of the ticket becomes ridiculously high (we have learned nothing in the history of aviation). One thing that is left over and too much is the amount of aisles that result in absolutely wasted space. Of all the spaceship design, it's real space meant to carry passengers, in this case simply, and hopefully, it's a measly... 20%? Putting intermediate elements, such as the "bar" area (which could have been placed at the beginning or at the end of the section and thus two aisles would be unnecessary. Always, a multitude of corridors. This ship does not carry passengers, in fact, it transports aisles. About the design, a ship whose transport is for passengers, does not differ too much from another in its concept, but in the details. All the lost space, notably differentiating itself from its function, is again lost space and with it an increase in the price of the passage... and in order to theoretically be one of the iconic aircraft of passenger flights, its profitability and the cheapening of each ticket should prevail. And to top it off, rear-facing passengers with other passengers in front of them, is the most anti-privacy thing that can exist, since privacy is limited in those devices. As a Genesis owner from the beginning, I'm totally disappointed with the design and even more so considering what we've had to expect. Please just give a passenger aircraft designer the things they should have, such as escape pods (which by the way should be much better distributed around the ship) even if they were in small groups and were really uncomfortable (their function is to save the passenger and the crew, but since they are not expected to have to be used at all hours, their space should be relatively small, because what prevails is survival, not waste), because to go through dangerous places, or more dangerous, there are other ships and/or the hiring of escort ships; and let him draw a sensible internal distribution even if it is on a napkin. The existence of parts that can be modular or configurable is fine, but the form is not. should be part of the main structure of the apparatus. If there are passengers, the cargo hold should be below them and if everything is dedicated to cargo the space should be open with no separation between decks, where the weight distribution is more efficient as well as the aerodynamics in flight (which should help save fuel once in atmospheric flight). Again sorry, but the design is really bad. Additional corridors than necessary tend to be superfluous, but in this case, they are criminal. I repeat this, the more passengers, the cheaper the distribution of costs per passenger and the more viable the passenger transport line becomes. That you then want to do a cruise for passengers that takes 2000 more slowly through space visiting places like a naval cruise, is another thing and you can put as many corridors as you want, since each passenger will have their suite, whether it is more or less large... but in a device that must take passengers at the maximum possible speed and must generate enough income so that the company that owns them (because companies have enough devices to make regular routes), it is profitable to sell tickets. That later they can put modules that are "vip" or for different classes of passengers would be logical. Please redesign the ship with logic. The present ship tries to transport passengers, not aisles. This design would not find any passenger space line that used it, if another company came up with a more optimal design (which is not difficult at all, even some of the dropships are better suited for this job).

@@Timberjac NPCs need at least 2x2 as much space to navigate around eachother so the typical 18 inch isles and 32" pitch seats in today's airliners would never work here. But, if I could put 200+ seats on the Genrsis then I'd also need to put 35 (THIRTY-FIVE!) escape modules! That alone would grow the ship to over 3x it's concept size. The face-to-face seating allows me to seat 4x passengers in -25% less space. Having them all face front would grow the ship again to Carrack size. Giant ships are not fast. Nobody wants to travel on a slow bohemoth.
@Timberjac

@@sirberticus3815 An option for escape pods. Let the passenger modules themselves be the escape/life preserver capsules. Each of the passenger modules could autonomously contain life support and access to emergency rations. In fact, they could be prepared to support twice as many people traveling in the same module, in case any of the other modules are damaged, so that they can evacuate people from the damaged module to those that are not damaged. If each module is separated from the others by a double bulkhead with emergency doors, the main part of the hull could be the "lifeboat" itself. Actually, most of the damage that spreads putting the aircraft at risk is going to possibly be in the cabin, in the wings or wherever the fuel is and in engineering. The obvious solution is that instead of having capsules for each passenger, what is separable are these sections that are possibly the ones that cause damage and threaten passengers. Thus, if the cockpit section (which may have double berths that are escape pods, to minimize wasted space, but we evencan doubt that the cockpit will be so dangerous), is separable and the wing and engineering section is also separable, the main passenger and cargo section becomes a lifeboat that can hold crew and cargo. Also if you want, you could have the main body separated between the different modules in cross sections, but this would not be necessary at first either. With the engine and wing section separated, the risk to passengers is minimal. And if we talk about someone wanting to attack and kill the people in the passage, it will not matter if they have to shoot much more at the main section that would act as a lifeboat, than if they are dedicated to hunting the different rescue capsules. And even if the goal is charging, it's still as easy as keeping cargo isolated from the various passenger modules (that would also prevent one of them from trying to access the cargo, which it shouldn't be able to do). After all, whoever wants to steal the cargo can do so and his criminal offenses will be some, while his crimes will multiply in amount and seriousness if he tries to destroy the passenger modules. Nothing is really going to stop a murderer from trying to kill, you can only hope that most criminals will consider that they won't go after them so much if they don't kill passengers. In this way, the need to have an incredibly immense space of rescue capsules is reduced and everything that has been gained in passengers is a reduction in prices per passenger. Because in the beginning, the entire main body where there are passenger modules, is itself the emergency capsule itself... In fact, several, because each modular passenger section could serve for itself and as a backup for another or half of another (even if they had to sit on the floor) if it has been damaged and has been able to be evacuated. And it will always be much better for the safety of the passenger to stay in their section or evacuate an adjoining one, than to have to go through the ship, precisely to the most dangerous sections (wings and engineering/engines) and after having toured the ship, wait in the corridors for each passenger to sit in an orderly manner with the sections of greatest danger around them (which honestly, This does seem like the biggest death trap that I don't think any Civil security office. What I do know is that the ship in its current concept is little less than useless for the function it should have... Because what is the use of an aerospace-passenger airline if for what it is going to have to make each passenger pay, it is half or a quarter or even a tenth of what a small aircraft would cost that can really take you anywhere, or depending on what routes, simple modifications of other aircraft can do a similar job. I'm really sorry, because it was a ship that I was very excited about... But what I see is far from exciting. P.S.: I understand the technical reason that NPCs need so much space to move through a ship, all the more reason, so as not to waste space in more and more corridors.

Outstanding work. The only thing I'd add is a small dumbwaiter or cargo elevator that moves between decks for crew, consumables and spare parts. It would start just forward of the main rear cargo, adjacent to the gravity ball. It would emerge in the crew habitation corridor, allowing supplies to be moved forward to the galleys, or backward to engineering. It would emerge again within the bartender's area of the view lounge.

Large Space for walking is needed only when boarding and disembarking - otherwise only very few people will be on the move - loose the gaping hole in the middle and add seats 2. I think there should be two main versions of the starliner: Short haul with seating for economy, seat suites for business and cabin modules for VIP movers. Short haul Gennies would have less cargo carrying capacity. Short hauls must provide entertainment, in-flight services and be on time. Long haul changes the seat configurations to a tighter sleep pod/capsule arrangement, carry more cargo and fuel. The gameplay loop of importance here would be more engineering based, managing fuel, life support and keeping stasis power systems functioning during multiple system hops.
