Michael J. Fox turned into an actual dog to film this movie. You just don't see that kind of dedication anymore

All three pets faced near death experiences with injury. Sassy fell over the waterfall and almost drowned if it wasn’t for the old man. Chance got porcupine quills stuck in his muzzle due to bothering the porcupine out of curiosity. Shadow unknowingly walked over a bunch of wood that was meant to block a mud hole and he fell in that injured his leg.

One of the most-powerful scenes in the movie, & definitely one that's always tugged at my heartstrings. 🥺 It always makes me SO HAPPY when Shadow finally makes it at the end with Chance & Sassy! ^_^ One thing I never understood, though, is why Shadow suddenly gave up when he fell in the muddy pit. After all, he was so determined to get himself & his friends back home! Why did he have such an emotional turn-around? :-?

I can't. I just can't. I'm a 32 year old woman, and this still makes me ball my eyes out like the child I was the first time I watched it.

This scene is taken place in Southern Pacific railroad's Brooklyn Yard in Portland Oregon. Home to the famous Daylight steam engine number 4449 (one of my favorite steam locomotives).

When I was little I had a dog named shadow who has died recently I think that’s why I find this movie so emotional.

Imagine if it had ended there. Not saying the ending is bad, WE NEEDED THAT LEVITY, but lord that kind of pain. Or maybe leaving it somewhat vague as to if he made it. A bit heavy, just really thinking about it.

The train part takes place some where in the southern Pacific railroad lines I guess

"Look, you pushed me this far, now I'm pushing you the rest of the way! You know back there in the woods, even when things looked really bad, I always believed we'd make it cause I thought you were too stubborn to quit! Well, you're not gonna quit. Not now, not when we're this close. Now try again!" "Do you think it's easy for me to admit I can't do it? I'm too old." "That's not true. There's nothing you can't do." "I have nothing more to give Chance. And it's time for you to be on your own." "But I want you with me. I love you Shadow." "You've learned everything you need, Chance. Now all you have to learn is how say goodbye." "I won't let you give up!" An exchange this powerful in a kids movie. They was really playing with our emotions in the 90s. 😭😭😭💔💔

There's a hint of pride in Shadow's voice when he tells Chance that he's learned everything he needs. I can imagine him smiling on the inside in that brief pause before he says so. On the other hand, it means that he takes comfort in knowing the family will be taken care of in his absence; making it easier for him to give up. So in a way, by being such a good teacher to Chance, who will not abandon his friend and mentor in his time of need, Shadow saved himself.

Sally Field as the cat and Micheal J Fox as the 1 dog ?… as strict as they used to portray no harm ever be done towards animals during the making of films that won that by a landslide…. Golden Retrievers need sum retrieving now and then too imagine that

The animals in this movie are such good actors and so well-trained. Seriously, just watch this scene on mute. Even without the excellent voice acting, you can still get the feel of urgency and hopelessness from Chance and Shadow in this scene just from their acting alone.

What annoys me about the second movie is how the characters pretty much revert back to the way they were in the beginning of this film. They just go back to not being as appreciative of each other, Sassy even taunts Chance about going back to the "bad place".

You know what’s even sadder about this scene, the voice actor who plays Chance (Michael j. Fox) isn’t doing so well. So, I pray that he’ll pull through his disease.😞😢
@TheMouseAvenger11 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, we currently haven't found a cure for Parkinson's (Michael's disease) yet. :-( Right now, all we can do, is treat his symptoms. But luckily, on the bright side, Parkinson's Disease isn't fatal, so I'm sure that Michael will have plenty of years before he finally heads off to the afterworld. ^_^ All that having been said, he's hanging in there really well. :-) He gets himself through with optimism & an undefeatable spirit. ^_^
