@@jevers123 I don't have a pitch block. I want to buy one. And I need to know if the propeller is machined on the pitch block or if I need to measure and straighten the propeller. I work with aluminum propellers.

@@Xarza17 this is a really tough one to answer, if you are a new business start up, you should consult with the propeller manufacturer, a pitch block needs to be secured to a mount base per manufacturing repair specs , aka a jig, thank you for the questions, it's the favorite part of my day job

Doesn't machining on an anvil solve geometry problems?
@jevers123
@jevers123 4 күн бұрын
@@Xarza17 I'm not sure how to answer this, for me it's 3 dementional art , the anvil is the equivalent of the wood frame that supports a canvas, the boat propeller is the canvas and the hammer is the paint brush , the paint is All the tables and gauges and tracking equipment, and that gear you will have to search for on your own, much like the show "Forged in fire" I'm only allowed to show X amount
@Xarza17
@Xarza17 4 күн бұрын
@@jevers123 I saw in the video that you straightened the propeller geometry on an anvil. After that, you took a caliper and measured the propeller and then straightened it after measuring. I'm trying to understand, is straightening on an anvil not enough to restore the geometry?
@jevers123
@jevers123 4 күн бұрын
@@Xarza17 yeah the anvil is for fine shaping, the blades tend to get little warps here and there from the heat process, some minor straightening is needed, the pitch block is for twisting the whole blade at once, and the calipers are used to make sure we get every blade into position perfectly, if we don't the prop will vibrate , no matter how good it gets balanced in the end process hope that helps, and if you're looking to do aluminum you should be able to hit them out on a pitch block without heating

Thanks for for reminding me of something that should have been mentioned in the video, most of this work comes in via marine companies and mechanics, they know all seals will be destroyed, but they won't do that work until we do this work first, when a diy customer brings one of these in that's this bad we tell them they are going to have to replace all the seels

Thank you that's a tough question, I have seen some props come in that were brazed, and they didn't last very long, , not to get too technical, I recommend having it tig welded , I run AC if it's thin , DC if it's over an inch thick, argon to keep oxygen from getting to the weld , hope this helps

At this moment when a little nostalgia approached, I caught my eye on your KZbin window, passing by an unknown and mysterious algorithm. Just because the thumbnail caught my eye, I accidentally saw your video, and I liked it the most and fell in love with your channel. You have the ability to make your videos instantly stunning and attractive. My past memories that shimmer in your video are stained with nostalgia. My past memories that shimmer in your video are stained with nostalgia. When I watch your video, it feels like an ecstatic and pleasant wind brushes my cheeks as the sun goes down in the field and evening. Even if it's just a passing relationship that I've never seen offline or don't know the name of, even if it's over a mountain or across the sea, even if it's far away, like this in the online KZbin world. Thank you for the algorithm that you can meet with great images. Even if strong waves are swept away in the vast expansive and fantastic space of KZbin, I will not forget the relationship we met with your beautiful video for a long time. Like a grain of sand on the beach, I am very lucky to have accidentally encountered an algorithm introduction video among countless videos. I am happy that I have finally found what I am looking for. Your video shines the brightest on my KZbin window right now. When I watch your videos on KZbin, somehow everything feels like a dream. My reflection on the monitor window looks like I'm leaving for a distant KZbin world that I don't know with an expression looking for something. Please continue to upload your wonderful videos often. How did you have such a wonderful talent that is full of the mysterious charm of your video? Your video is the best video. Your video, which I feel was made with unsparing sincerity, has a feeling that positive energy will surely come to you in the future and will receive a lot of love soon, so my heart is very happy.
