Sounds wrong but I am so envious. My health is such, that without permission I could not affords to take the chance, as I cannot move quick enough if I were to be asked to leave. Also the fact that if we cannot get the car close we cannot go there. Still you enjoy it and make the most of what you have and please understand that this is our bushcraft , watching others. 👍👍👍 I agree with you .. a great bit of kit. I have mine since the mid-70's and still use it regularly. It is the original 'wire clips and canister screw-on' model. It has a built-in wind shield and the pot supports are adjustable (and removable) to cater for small diameter pots and storage. The Burner Head and Pot Supports are removable for easier storage. I store and transport mine in a rectangular Toiletry Bag which if need be, can be hung on the outside of my pack. In the Bag .. Gas Camister (installed), Burner Head, Pot Supports, Folding Base Stand, Pot Holder, Cloth and Butane Lighter. Here in Switzerland, I can get replacement Gas Cartridges at Decathlon, my local Migros Supermarket just down the road and a host of other places. Cost. Price per gram of Gas is less than other Gas Burner Systems and the Burner is pretty economical. Caveat .. I have never had the need to run my Unit on full power (which wastes an inordinate amount of gas .. heat running away and up the sides of the pot). A lower setting still boils water in not that much longer while using far less gas to do so. I still see no need to get myself one of the more modern, compact (and expensive) Gas Cookers. My Camping Gaz Bluet 206 still does the job and I, as a 'Boomer' (YOB 1950), was raised as not to allow it's perceived idiosyncracies to get in the way 😏.

Best outdoor gadget explanation I have seen so far. You have explained every detail clearly. Thank you very much. For instance, are you burning isoprophyl alcohol? The flame seemed too orange to me for denaturated ethanol.
@JJ_OUTDOORSАй бұрын
Tbh mate it's just a bog standard methylated spirit grabbed off a hardware stores shelf haven't given much thought as to which actual alcohol it was based on as it doesn't Ultimately matter that much too me ..its still a great bit of kit that I love using

@@JJ_OUTDOORS I'm burning "Stein renksiz ispirto" in my Trangia's that I couldn't find english keywords for that. This burns very clear, the flame is near invisible, it is very hot and especially it doesn't produce any soot under the pots.

This is one of the very best 'wild camping' videos I've seen from anyone. There was such an intensity of feeling to it. You made me realise just how much this woodland and the surrounding landscape matters to you. How it connects to your childhood with all its attendant memories and, no doubt, mixed emotions. Also, the way the video was presented, it was as if we were on this journey of discovery alongside you in 'real time' - an adventure story in which we were taking part. This really matters to you and, because of that, it means something to the rest of us too.
