I wonder if Tyler Perry or marvel can make a movie about this man life or PBS do a documentary on him, all to bring awareness to depression/ptsd

My favorite Harry song & one of the most powerful songs you will ever hear. You can probably learn more from this song than reading 5 textbooks on the subject of race in America!!

He did this live on one of his UK tours. He said he didn't normally do it live as it 'Tears the goddam guts out of my voice'.... I would have been happy listening to him whisper it if he was still alive. Many people question me 'who is this old protest singer you listen to?' I tell them he was neither a protest nor folk singer. He sang about life.

This one was actually the one that got me through my husband's death. It was a complex relationship that never lacked love. I did fight the world for him, and we both lost. I guess lost love is a universal theme, but he totally nailed this one.

Had the good fortune to attend Harry’s concerts in small venues in the 70’s. His brothers Tom and Steve joined him on stage at times. This is a song that would be featured during the show. Truly memorable and a special time.

My son goes to college next year. I grieve losing the years he was a child. And how I could hold and kiss him in public. I miss the boy that came to sleep with us. The boy who needed me so much more than now. Hes a young man flapping his wings. I agree it's about loss. Loss of time. Loss of a child who did not die, but just grew into his own. Dont lose time with your babies. Theres never enough time. I took advantage of all my time with Matt. Guess what. It was never enough. You want your babies to stop growing at a certain age. Thats the age I will always mourn. My boy is a man now. Love never dies, just changes.

You love many different songs for different reasons. This was my favorite song at the time for testing all of the human emotions. The song itself is amazing lyrically and then the fantastic orchestration. And then the power of Harry's voice. He can capture every emotion in his singing and there was no holding back in this one. I return to this song time and time again. It will always bring a tear to my eye and a tremble through my body. I am 72 years old.

One of the greatest songs I ever heard on any subject. I was thinking both of Bob Dylan's "Only a Hobo" and of David Olney's "1917, the French prostitute", but the anger and despair and tragic poetic beauty of this stands by itself.

Posting this for my sister who passed away 15 years ago. Today is her birthday...December 3rd. Funny how you think you've healed ...and moved on....(Whatever that's supposed to mean?)....and then at times the pain hits you as hard and fresh as if it happened yesterday. Rest with the angels, sis....and Yes, "you're the hidden cost....and the thing that's lost...in Everything I do".....and No, "I'll Never stop...looking for You!" .....SKYYYY!!....Blueeeeee....And...........BLACK!!!!

24 years since he released it, and it still hits the nerve dead on. Helping me find peace in this crazy world, once again... JB is borderline completely unique in that sense, few can so perfectly distill a feeling and create such an artistic rendering to express it. This song helps me get through it.
