Ridiculous! Thought this was a joke at first. The canal will become a raging torrent (where it's not leaking.) Can today walk across many parts of the canal with chest waders on. Parts of the canal will have to be dug-out and relined. I can see another HS2 cost coming here..get real guys.

Yeah, more than tripling our bill over the last 6 months for no reason. When I asked why I was told our usage has gone up which is completely untrue. The. they came with the new scam "you must have a leak". We 100% don't have a leak either. We are just being overcharged and there's nothing we can do and Affinity know this and know they can get away with it. Disgrace of a company.

These add on tap units will cause bacteria build up it’s proven,that to sample this tap it will fail therefore they remove it before any sample is taken ? That just proves it’s not a good test as you dink with it fitted ,,,I have no idea why they promote this

If you really want people to change behaviour, this is a textbook example of how not to do it. In real life anyone who has to interact with the obnoxious duck character will comply when he is present, but learn to resent it so much that they will do the opposite behind his back. I saw this advert a couple of times over the weekend and found it so irritating I almost want to waste some water today just to spite that duck.

Hi - one thing that has been puzzling me - if we leave the tap running during teeth washing - how does that save any water - the water will go down the plughole and back into the main system - so nothing is lost? Please can you explain - this is also true for showers 🙂

Brings lots of memories back to me - I used to go fishing in the pool at the foot of Ceasar's Camp - I went to The Harvey Grammar School in the late 1940's early 1950's. The road to the top of hill was a great test on a push bike - 1 : 4 but the view from the top was brilliant.

Can you show how you worked out the 15L per day saving by not rinsing out your glass/ mug? A typical mug holds 350mL. You’d need to be drinking ~42 cups a day without rinsing to achieve this. Even a couple would struggle. Also @AffinityWater, what % of wasted water is directly caused by the consumer vs say leaky pipes? I’m willing to bet it’s a low number. Maybe focus more on fixing the leaks in the system and less on these puff pieces.

Water cos to take the piss out of the Midlands to enable infinite construction in the south, in the name of 'sustainability'! Make way for the Grand Urine Canal, to save the speculative housebuilding industry and destroy what's left of the countryside.
@spamletspamley672
@spamletspamley672 Жыл бұрын
So rather than insist on sustainability in order to enable the survival of a portion of the current population when climate change cuts off the food imports we depend on, the water industry is bent on facilitating the building over of more and more of the south until it is all one city, thereby guaranteeing the breakdown of society by civil war and starvation. This could even be happening before this project, and HS2, which is likewise an unsustainable development enabling project, can be completed. An Earth scientist ought to be aware of the folly he is engaged in. :(

Water plants wisely. Be mindful of your outdoor watering practices. Water your plants during the cooler parts of the day to minimize evaporation, and consider using a drip irrigation system or a soaker hose to reduce water loss.

If you flush the taps for 2 minutes you will not detect lead contamination from the customer's pipes. Do you not care about lead poisoning? Also, how do you get 70,000 samples from 9,500 customers?

Water is supplied by God. It shouldn’t have stakeholders but be a under a government scheme to reduce large profits going to shareholders. Cutting water is a no-no. We have abundant rain each year. This ground is saturated with water in places. Your billing is ridiculously high!

I believe problem with water meters, ow do we know they are accurate, because my friend end of the road has been paying his bills on water meter, they are three adults living in the house, so are we, I asked him how much do you pay for the water, he showed me the bill and I was flabbergasted to see that he was only paying around £50 for 6 months and it was written that it doesn't look like you have used any water for last 3 months....He said he has been paying for many years on meter..... When Affinity Water showed me that I use around £ 200 for 6 months, and also compare with my meter it also works out more or less same... That is the reason if the meters are accurate, my meter was replaced last year had one before that but I always paid by usual rateable value. It is not fair that someone is paying only £50 for 6 months and others are paying over £ 200. My friend has a bigger house then mine and also has a large garden. Lives only 100 yards from me but on another street.

The state of this essential utility in the UK is disgraceful. It is not the domestic use that is the issue, we are forced to use potable water to flush toilets etc which is a disgrace and there is no support to use domestic water (shower, dishwasher etc) to water vegetable gardens, allotments and gardens. The problems with the infrastructure of the water treatment facilities is lack of commitment to environmental water quality and domestic consumers which is subsumed by cow-towing to shareholders.

Told him if turns on another tap or some one showering can't shower as water drops. Said that your flow is above recommend minimum. This is insured by HomeServe so to avoid digging up replacing my partially blocked pipe. Said its above what is required not gonna do it. Any reason to get out of it bloody insurance companies.

Hi there. We have a 50-year action plan for water resources which sets out the action we need to take to reduce leakage, reduce demand and invest in infrastructure for new sources of water, to keep water flowing for our customers and leave more water in the environment.  We'll be making significant investments in new sources of water, such as using the Grand Union Canal, water transfers from neighbouring water companies and new reservoirs. For more information, see : affinitywater.uk.engagementhq.com/wrmp

Tell the government not to increase the population! Build new reservoirs! Remove the chemicals from the water, my tap smells like a swimming pool, its disgusting! And no, an additional 25% increase on the bill over the next five years is not acceptable as everything else is as well but wages won't be increasing by anywhere near that. Reduce your profits and get everything sorted running 100% then we can discuss your pay increase!

Hi Keith. You sent me a letter asking me to reduce my water use to look after the environment. My use per year is around 140k litres. Affinity water has recently stated on their website that you have reduced leakage by ~ 10% which comes in at 16.6 million litres a day. That means affinity water still currently loses around 150 million litres of water a day. Even if your 1.4 million residential customers reduced their use by 100 litres a day it would just about cover the amount of water affinity leaks in the same amount of time. I think I have my maths and sources right, but would be happy to be corrected.

It would be better if you built more reservoirs and used the canal system to keep them filled from areas of the country where water is more plentiful. But that won't happen as it would impact temporarily on your profits and profit before people are this country's way.
