AVLAB recommended taking the sample when the oil is hot. If you let it cool the contamination may settle to the bottom giving a false reading.

What a beaut, all the little features add up: this is the sharpest sonex I've seen on youtube and by one hell of a margin. Damn!

Do you note the use if Seafoam on the paperwork sent to the oil analysis lab? Any concerns the Seafoam skewing the lab's findings?

Hey Jeff, how many hours you got on the Jab now? I have 300ish on mine now, its a Gen2 hydraulic lifter motor. So far so good...only issues have been alternator stators...3rd time seems to be the charm! Haha.

Hi Jeff! Another nice video full of info. Wonder if you have any fuel pump in your system or its purely gravity fed? Thanks

The previous builders of my plane used camlocks, which like to hang up in there sockets even after you loosen them. Had I to do it over, I'd use the Southcos.

How much torque did you use to secure the Curtis 90 degree adapter? I snapped the brass bolt in half while attempting to install mine today.

I really like your auxiliary tank idea, did you use like a racing fuel cell or fab out an aluminum tank or something else?

Very well done, sir. Appreciate your modifications even more now that I've watched several videos- I definitely see why you would've gone with the Dynon radio- it would've been the last small piece of integration for your overall set up. I wonder if you would've been as happy (overall) with an AeroVee 2.1 or even the turbo? I really like how quiet your 3300 is even at max power and I enjoy the sound at cruise settings. It seems very smooth for all flight modes.

Jeff, great video and thanks for including the spreadsheets. I fly an RV-9A but didn't build and therefore fly the test cards so I want to do this myself. I've read about al this but your video really filled in the blanks for me. I'd love to email you directly if I have questions.

Jeff, thanks for your videos. I am considering purchasing a used Sonex B. I have a question about learning to fly a sonex; is there formal training available to learn to fly a sonex. Also, what are your thoughts on buying a used sonex? Thanks!

What cruise speed do you get? Their site claims around 135mph /120kts at sea level and around 170mph/145kts at 8,000 ft. Both TAS for the Jabiru engine.

I notice that you have a fabric canopy drap on the inside of your glass overhead covering. It has a metal bar that the fabric follows to give you shade in your plane. Can you provide the manufacturer for me and the approximate cost of the item in your plane shown here. TU! Paul

Paul, that fabric sun shade is made by "Koger". They are nicely made, and although they are priced a bit higher than you'd think just by looking at it, the quality and performance is wonderful, and I'd never want to go back to flying without one!

Been there. I had a challenger 1 and was flying one day and there was a rain shower about 12 miles away. A gust of wind hit while flying and nearly flipped me. I almost crapped my pants. I couldn't believe a thunderstorm that far away would effect me. Lesson to self. Never fly these light airplanes with rain or showers anywhere in your region.

There are a couple of nasty looking showers in view as you turn left prior to take off that even to me with no flying experience look out of the performance range of this craft. Glad you're ok and are pitching this as an educational exercise cos judgement seems off in this one.

Front gear looks loose. I thought when you did the touch and go, that was to be a full stop because the turbulence was far too great for a light experimental. I was done and when you throttled up to leave the ground I was shocked. The clouds looked turbulent in the distance, another concern.
