Terrific, clear video. I am also a furniture maker and am going to build my first canoe this winter. Your video will prove very helpful for my build. Thank you.

Great video, and very useful. It would have been nice to know how thick the cedar strips were, and what you used for the contrasts. It's a pity about 2 or 3 of the joints in the hull.
@stephansiepermann2 ай бұрын
1/4 inch thick ...its in the book;) (6,4mm) contrast is red and yellow cedar.

Instead of epoxy and sawdust just use white glue. It doesn't have to be waterproof.

Very cool but as a humidor I wouldn't want to place any sticks of value in a loosely sealed box filled with glue. At that size, 2 slots for the humidity media would've been a good idea too. Awesome piece tho! Making a good humidor is no easy feat

Corrugations are not supposed to be this way in the doors. They should turn 90 and run top to bottom. This way the container cannot hold vertical load. For the rest it is a very beatiful cabinet in your style.

thanks for the reply. i redesigned and simplified mammut to make it more furniturelike so i abandoned the original design a little bit. therefor mammut is only inspired by the original and not a copy of it.

WOW!!! what a cool humidor....please reply with a price quote
Wait, aren't you supposed to *not* use glue in making a good humidor? I thought you were meant to just use tight dovetail joints and nails, because when you're aging cigars for many years you get traces of acrid aroma seeping into the cigars?
@stephansiepermann7 жыл бұрын
good point, you just need to use the right glue i guess
