Cool Video and great teaching! Could you do a Video on Minor Blues aswell, I mean like for example the Changes in "Mr P.C." or "Equinox", or is it pretty much the same Conecept as a Standard Blues with Substitutions?

I think this was good, I do feel that it had a long build up but after I got to the core so the song I enjoyed it.

you have some WRONG CHANGES on FOOTPRINTS its not D7 ,,,TO DFLAT7 its FSHARP MINOR TH FLAT 5 TO F7 FLAT 5 EMINOR7TH FLAT 5 TO DFLAT7 ALTERED

you do realize that f# half diminished is the same chord as D7 right? D7's guide tones are F# and C, the notes in D7 are D F# A C. The notes in F# half dimished are F#, A, C, E. It's a rootless D7b9. Great substitution to use

For anyone who’s interested, Shorter’s original changes for the D7 to the Db7 as presented in this vid are as follows: F#min7b5 to F7#11 (or B7#9b13), three beats each, to E7#9#11 (or sometimes Emin7b5) to A7#9b5, also three beats each.
