Weave step is look like full open left turn?
@vivaladance
@vivaladance 3 ай бұрын
It is similar, those six steps would start on the other foot, leader left foot forward and follower right foot back. In the weave we would start leader right foot and follower left. It does have similar rate of rotation, in the same direction of turn and both being six steps. Thanks for watching and happy dancing.

you say tango for fun at home.. you cleverly put it this way.. but a serious tango dancer will see immediately how well you demonstrate the basics...!! there is nothing fun about it.. they are solid steps taught very nicely...very clever idea to attract a beginner who can learn so much without even knowing it..!

hi thanks so much to both of you! I know all these steps.. but the way you demonstrate in such a logical way I think makes it so much easier for the lead to have flow of thought of they are doing so that continuity is maintained .. all the frills and bows can be added .. but the basics are so important to be firmly etched ... and you do it so well.. so thank you from uk again..

Going to outside partner for any move after the basic? Brilliant! I wish my instructor were doing it that way, as we are staying in closed position for the progressive chasse. It would be so simple for both lead and follow to know that we are moving to outside partner after any basic quarter turn to the right.

Thanks for posting the video. You broke it down so that it is very understandable and even added on the extra bar of music and covered the most important technique tips.

Absolutely brilliant. This is the hardest figure I have approached so far on my dance journey. I know the Man steps are quite easy, but learning what I'm supposed to be leading the Lady to do, has been MAJOR challenge. No other video has come close to this one. Thank you.

Is the dance called cha cha or cha cha cha?
@vivaladance
@vivaladance 9 ай бұрын
We've always called it cha cha cha formally but that doesn't mean to say that is correct. We find by the time time you've said cha cha, the rest is implicit and with professional or amateur dancers just "cha" is informally understood too, just as we'd casually say Paso rather than Paso Double. We're qualified with the ISTD and IDTA in the UK and both the ISTD book and the Laird book (IDTA) refer to it as cha cha cha so we tend to align with that. Look up Enrique Jorrin - Trompetas en Cha Cha Cha on here for an early reference too. Great question! James & Joanna

If you underturn the end of the last figure by half a turn, you can continue down the line of dance. We overrated in our small space to go back on ourselves to show it twice, each in a different perspective. We hope that helps and good luck!
