I think it works different when you have dark hair, because I notice that the next time I do my roots a little bit darkens my gray a bit darker, so it always look like I have lighter roots that gradually get darker, like a backwards balayage

I would not let a new client leave with wet hair. We need to both see it dry. I don’t want a call next week “can you make it lighter/darker/cooler”

Hi Elaine! I have been searching for gray blending videos and demi for TWO YEARS! WHY your videos never showed up till today! Please try to use more platforms like tiktok and Instagram. There are a couple of hairdresser going viral over this issue. As for me, I sent my hairdresser their videos and she accepted using demi, yet she was ignorant enough to use 20% volume and I lost 3 months of growth and I most likely I will have hot roots and demarcation line again. Of course she did highlights to blending the old demarcation line. I don't know how to fix it now after a month or so. I'm level 6 naturally ash and I have a lot go grays in the front .. like 70% in some parts while the rest is 40 % or so

I am dye free going on 5 years. I miss my dark hair and feel washed out around my face. I think I want grey blending with adding in many dark pieces. I just don't know where to find someone that is experienced with this. I have a lot of white especially when I pull my hair back. Any thoughts?

I have 4/5 base and highlights. I am about 70 grey. My colorist is unable to do grey blending and I am tired of demarcation line. She only recommends powder to cover up. What do I do? I suggested to her to use demi permanent color in between but she says I will ruin her work.

She is ignorant. She doesn't want to learn. I faced a problem with my hairdresser.. she accepted using demi but she was ignorant enough to use it with 20% 😂😂... i will have the hot roots again.. i will fix it at home and i am following a very good hairdresser on tiktok ..she teaches us how to do it at home.

Can i use demi on a level 6.5/7 who is 70% grey, will the demi look sheer on new growth against the existing permanent?
@ElaineTraviscolorexpert
@ElaineTraviscolorexpert 11 күн бұрын
Hi changing over from permanent can be tricky because the finish will be different and could be interpreted as hot roots if not formulated properly but it can be done you have to have the proper in depth consultation explaining the transition period with your client

I was skeptical until I finally tried demi for gray coverage after listening to your podcasts and for the right client it works beautifully, especially for blondes. However, I haven’t tried it on redheads yet and not sure I’d get the same vibrancy as I would from a permanent color?😬

Hi Amy yes with reds it depends on the situation but I have also had success creating the most natural strawberry blondes using cream demi on those first greys

Isn’t it strange how uncomfortable people get when you’re not a drinker? Jim Gaffigan has a joke about just that. Nobody ever asks why you don’t use mayonnaise, but are so suspicious about why you don’t drink alcohol!🥸?

I’m trying this on for size, but am still stumped because I’ve always understood the “weight” of pigments change as the levels get lighter. Is the dye load at a level 9 strong enough to tone the RPC at a level 7 if a neutral/cool result is desired?

Does this law work for highlift color too? E.g. Wella Special Blondes? I tried it out and it didn‘t get me as light as expected. I tried it on a natural level 6 medium textured hair and it turned out a level 8 only. I did use the math equation though😅
@ElaineTraviscolorexpert
@ElaineTraviscolorexpert Ай бұрын
When using high lift blondes on a level 6 the best you will get is very yellow blonde 6+12=18 18/2=9 so you want to use the coolest high lift available and high lift requires using 40 vol developer If you got orange it is possible your client was more of a level 5 or you used 20 volume and didnt let it process a full 45 min for max lift

Thank you for replying!😁 I used Londa color 12/81 with double 40 vol./ 12% (In Germany we use %) and it just didn‘t get me as light as expected. I‘m a hairdresser trainee, so I tried this experiment on a hair strand that I cut off from a clients hair. It was virgin hair! I left the color on for 60 min. I did this experiment two more times to be sure I didn‘t do anything wrong. But always the same result. She only turns out an 8. Still a beautiful color but not close to „blonde“. I‘m really wondering what‘s going on here. Maybe her hair wasn‘t virgin?😅

Hello I’ve recently discovered your page thanks so much for all the education… Can I ask about the example you have getting a natural level 5 to a base 8 using the universal level of lift 8x2=16-5=11 which would be a high lift usually mixed with a 30 volume so would that still be effective? Or would you mix a highlift with 20 volume in this case? Thank you
