While I agree that no one is better just because they spent more time studying, in practice many physicians, RN’s, Hospital Admins due suffer from egotism. It’s great that they teach that in nursing school, or even to pre-meds, and pre-medicine students, the deleite is a whole other thing when you’re on bedside. Arrogant nurses, condescending preceptors. Humans are nasty in every field but healthcare is special. Don’t let this disuade you from continuing, just know you’ll be dealing with many personalities that WILL test your gangsta side. Colleagues, patients, physicians.

My school only offers prerequisites online.

I’m so upset science classes are only good for 5 years in NJ. I have to repeat Micro, A&P 1 n 2 again I got all B’s in all. Smh now have to do it all over, didn’t even save my notes it was back in 2004 😢. I’m taking Micro in person

A lot of great points. Great video. The only courses I'm taking online for pre-nursing are A & P 1 and 2. I had to take a prereq. of a pre-req. bio class before I can take a college-level biology class. It was tough, but thank God I passed with a B. I'm in my second bio class, a prerequisite for A&P 1 & 2 and I'm fully prepared. I make sure to go through the syllabus first and write down all of my due dates not only in my planner but also on sticky notes to put in my binder this way when I open the binder it's right in front of me. I've been doing all of my reading a week before starting the assignments and I make my own notes from the textbook and add notes from videos. I started waking up early to go to the school library. I find that I concentrate better that way. I also have a bit of downtime at work. Also, I cut down on how many days I week that I work. I work no more than 3 to 4 days a week. 3 is the minimum for me. For Biology notes I write them digitally, then print them. For Humanities I type my notes. If the professor provides lecture notes I don't rely on them heavily, but I use them to get a quick run-through of each topic. Lecture slides I've been printing four 4 slides to a page to save paper.

I’m taking Microbiology now. I took A &P 1 & 2 online and got a B. Took Comp 2, Psychology, and Sociology and passed with a B grade. The professor for Microbiology, that class went over the syllabus, book and everything to complete the course.

Your 5 points are SO true! Even for all online classes - I wish I had you to remind me of these when I took mine!

Thank you for the insight! Nursing school is going to be challenging, you will require more critical thinking and the questions are about concepts, memorization is not as helpful a technique there. It does give you a foundation passing those classes because you build on the knowledge , but it does not make it any easier. I was in nursing school but did not complete the program due to failing pharmacology. I am reentering and they are letting me take pharmacology as standalone before continuing the core nursing classes. When I was at that school in 2020, they put 5 classes together at once and they have since updated their curriculum format. With how you’re speaking now and I’m still looking at your next videos - I believe you will be able to do very well in nursing school! Making friends to help and study with, and listening to the professor are stellar things to do.
