I love CAPC!! While I love and adore our hospice colleagues, I appreciate the organization that highlights our similarities and differences. It’s been such a blessing to my career!!

What a beautiful story, Dr. Lustbader. Thank you for sharing your parents' situation. You have illustrated the total benefits of palliative care and how it improves one's quality of life and provides a layer of support.

This is so spot on. I have untreatable chronic illness and am mostly housebound. The focus on quality of life both physical and mental, and not having to spend all my energy going to a clinic would be life changing. Going to ask my pain doctor about a referral for palliative. Hoping it is responded to well.

And when a person has a processing delay, the ask after the tell should wait a little longer. Thank you for this video.

Sorry to comment here four years late but I'm having a hard time reaching anyone who might furnish a link to the excellent coverage of Chef Jose Andres and World Central Kitchen by BBC last night. Those "sponsored by" messages on the local Public TV station are embedded in my memory so perhaps someone at this link can direct me to the right place. (Incidentally, as a former caregiver with Home Instead I enthusiastically support palliative care so I'm already in that club.) Thanks for any help you might give. I'm not given to conspiracies but something tells me that last night's report is being suppressed.

Nice video. As the patient in Palliative care, I experienced absolutely none of this. I grapple every day about the value of palliative care except for my access to morphine. I feel like I have to play along at every visit to get my pain meds and not be seen as a difficult patient. I know palliative care and hospice care can be a lot better than what I am getting but it just doesn't seem to be available in my area. I hate every single visit to my care provider. 😢
