so the batman 1 is a reprint/replica which on the slab would say that, yet from a distance looks real. good for a display piece but that is it. how many collectors would have a real batman 1 in 8.0 or above? just about none except maybe 1-3. I think a 9.0 is the highest for this book with one owner.
@comicbookrevival13 күн бұрын
@@GeorgeRainey-s4v correct - a high grade original print of Batman 1 would be incredibly difficult to come by, which is why I consider mine as a display piece. It’s not a flex or boast - just a cool comic to own and display and an important piece of comic book history.

I'm really glad to be a first time visitor. I will be checking out so more of your videos today. I just downloaded and printed off a few copies of your grading process and notes. I appreciate the thoroughness of your grading and showing us your detailed process. I like your lists of defects also. I'm always reluctant to page flip comic books unless I'm planning on pressing it after. Do you have any tips for handling the pages of moderns or freshly pressed books without creating light finger bends ? Thank You for making this video. I'm new to collecting and selling Comics about one year. Grading is probably my favorite part as I realize now how crucial these grade points are to the value of a book. I look forward to watching you in the future and thank you for your help.
@comicbookrevival18 күн бұрын
@@UwantUneedGiftsGoodsandBooks thank you for the kind words! The only advice I can offer when handling comics is to be extremely careful. Turn the pages slowly and deliberately and wear white cotton gloves if you’re concerned about leaving oil stains from your fingers on the page. Be mindful of how gently you handle the comic you’re grading, especially the older ones. Thanks for watching, it’s great to have you on board! 👍

@@comicbookrevival Thank You for the tips. It looks like I'm at least doing one thing right. I always use white cotton gloves now because if i don't there is always some oil even when my hands are dry lol. I walk around my place like Michael Jackson all day One Glove hand to hold the Comic the other non glove hand to clean haha. I learned that one from Bronze and Modern Gods. Just not the dancing like Michael Jackson "Until the fun stops part" Did I say that out loud ? haha. Have a great day

I did buy Klaus, the mini-series when it first arrived, I did enjoy it! I then bought the one shots the years they came out, other than the wordless one, I enjoy reading a story, and wasn't to keen on a calendar, yes the arts nice, but paying nearly a tenner for just as I said a calendar, not for me! It would of been nice to have seen some new ones in the recent years, it amazes me it's been 5 years since the last one, time certainly flies! That omnibus does look nice, I may treat myself, despite my reference to the calendar, lol! Happy Christmas!

At a quick glance I determine the book to be a 4.5 maybe a 5.0 depending interior. The pen markings for me personally wouldn’t be a major issue for most Bronze Age and Silver Age books because most shop owners understandably had to make a small mark or write the date on the back cover to keep track when to send books back for credit. I prefer the old school of grading back in the 1970s but I appreciate your extra attentiveness to search for additional flaws.
