*Me tensely watching the video*: Does he do the roll on the concrete? OMG YES HE DOES! #BackOfSteel
@BooGroove3 жыл бұрын
LOL. Well, the front roll at least. Because of the pandemic, I actually did my black sash test in that exact spot and I had to perform all the rolls on the pavement that day.

It's a very difficult form but you made it look effortless! Great job!!

Alexander, it's nice seeing you do these forms. It's exactly how I learned them. I also went to Peter Kwoks KF academy. In Bloomfield, then in Clifton. Been to Peter's house once before he disappeared. Haha.

I saw in a video you study at Al Benders, I used to study at China Hand in Brick, NJ another Peter Kwok Lineage school. It's been a long time but I'm itching to get back into Kung Fu. Keep up the good work.

Where did you learn?
@BooGroove10 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. Glad the videos were helpful. With whom do/did you study? Sifu Al (sifubender), with whom I study, has very nice versions of Shaolin Broadsword, Yang Style Tai Chi Short Form, Double-edged sword, Hua Chuan I and Hua Chuan III on this channel: kzbin.info I will probably put up my own versions of the Broadsword and Tai Chi forms eventually, but if you're looking for guidance, Sifu Al's videos of these forms would be the better reference anyway. He performs the Tai Chi form and Hua Chuan I himself. A couple of his top senior students perform the other two forms.

Thank you. Master Marilyn Cooper was my teacher before I moved to Japan. I would like to find a teacher in Tokyo but have not found one yet.
@BooGroove10 жыл бұрын
jamie reed How far did you get into the curriculum? Master Marilyn has quite a few videos of the advanced forms posted on her channel (Hua Chuan I-IV, Cane/Umbrella). Shifu Dominick from China Hand also offers virtual training through his website and has pretty extensive coverage of the early forms, including step-by-step explanations, not just demonstrations. It's still not the same as in-person training, but if you're looking for a refresher on things you previously learned, it's worth a look.

Thank you for posting these. I was going back through my old notes, revisiting these lines and your video helped where muscle memory failed. Do you have more to post? I am looking forward to them.
