I am grateful to everyone for their prayers and loving support. I brought my mother home after 4 days in the hospital fighting a bout with pneumonia and heart congestion. She also sprained an ankle after fainting, prior to going in the hospital. She will continue treatment but at home and is going pretty well for 90 years old. We both thank God for His love and tender mercies.

Thank you for blessing us with your insights and readings on these videos Jan. I listen to many of them while driving or laying down for the night so I don’t always have a chance to immediately comment. Then life gets busy. But I want you to know that sharing your insights have been a blessing. Many times the timing is divine. At least for me. So be encouraged and continue what you were doing.

Sir, please help me understand the verses where Jesus instructs his disciples to "symbolically" drink his blood. Consuming any blood is strictly forbidden in Gods law (Leviticus 3:17, 17:10-14...)! Is there any place in the Hebrew scriptures where Gods people are ever told to symbolically disobey Gods commands? What would have been the purpose of consuming his blood? The passover in the Torah involved putting blood on the door posts and not drinking it! Are you aware of any first century Greco-Roman rituals that involved consuming blood and human flesh? I ask with love and humility and not to challenge or debate your beliefs! There are many christian concepts that are just so foreign to judaism and many christians are unable to answer many questions that I have. With love, I thank you!

Those are good questions. Let me see if I can connect the theology for you between the Old Covenant blood and the New Covenant. I won't go into all aspects of the covenant with Abraham, but it sounds like you would be familiar with it enough to know that it was a covenant ratified by blood. And that the New covenant in Jeremiah 31 relates to what I'm going to say below as writing the Torah on the heart along with the forgiveness of sin. I believe the basic principle that underlies the blood sacrifices of the tabernacle service in the Old Testament as well as prohibitions against consuming blood is this: The life of a person or animal is in the blood. The blood equals life. So while it is true that blood should not be consumed, it is also true that it serves to make atonement for sin. Here are the relevant passages Leviticus. And I'll add a comment after them: “If any one of the house of Israel or of the strangers who sojourn among them eats any blood, I will set my face against that person who eats blood and will cut him off from among his people. For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it for you on the altar to make atonement for your souls, for it is the blood that makes atonement by the life. - Leviticus 17:10-11 For the life of every creature is its blood: its blood is its life. Therefore I have said to the people of Israel, You shall not eat the blood of any creature, for the life of every creature is its blood. Whoever eats it shall be cut off. - Leviticus 17:14 Regarding the use of blood for atonement I recommend reading Leviticus 16 for the day of atonement service, although there was also blood used in the daily "tamid" service. After reading Leviticus 16 I would then look at how Paul, a Jew and Christian scholar, refer to the blood in the book of Hebrews, chapters 8-10 (Not all consider Paul the author of Hebrews but I do). Jesus did make a very strong statement in the gospel of John chapter 6, where he pushed the statement that he is the bread of life, to mean "eating his flesh and drinking his blood". He makes it clear in John 6: 63, that he was speaking metaphorically. He said there that the flesh profits nothing (for giving spiritual life), but that his words were spirit and life. Jesus is introduced to us in the gospel of John as the Word of God, Yahweh of the Old Testament who is come in the flesh. John 1:1-5; 18. The theology is this, you also find in Psalm 1, 19, 119. That the word of God, all of his instruction, the Torah, is life for those whom God has created. His Word is creative, from the beginning, and redemptive, as the Word, incarnate in the flesh, was crucified. Jesus is the Word of God, our Passover, who is sacrificed for us. It is the sacrifice, typified in the tabernacle service, and fulfilled at the cross, that connects the consuming of the Torah with the symbolic consuming of the blood. We have the life of God when we digest his Torah, his instruction, and the Torah comes to us as an act of grace when the blood of Christ atones for our sin, as typified in Leviticus 16 in the cleansing of the sanctuary on the day of atonement. Again, I recommend reading Leviticus 16, then Hebrews 8 through 10, and hopefully this will clarify things for you. God bless you in your studies and thank you for your sincere faith. Your questions are welcomed.

What do you think it means that the “days shall be shortened.”? Will God intervene early?

But please notice when the Pharisees were speaking about the sinners, the disciples were not called sinners, these are 2 very different people. Sinners are called by Jesus - Disciples are chosen by Jesus because many are called but few are chosen.

I think if you have the time, and enjoy doing this, to keep doing it. I too, am older and divorced and wanted to start a KZbin channel to share my own unique thoughts on God. I can understand feeling discouraged, but does the Word of God ever come back void? I see lots of channels with 12 views, and if it’s enjoyable to share the gospel- they continue. You’re only human. You could easily create click bait …. But where’s the integrity?? Tc
@janmckenzie
@janmckenzie 23 күн бұрын
You're right about the clickbait, or even just following trends that get a lot of interest. I'm not really about that and I was hoping people wouldn't think this was clickbait. I hope I made that clear in the video. Thanks for taking the time to comment and be an encouragement. Regarding views, like I said it's not so much the small number of views, but let's say you have 12 to 20 or so views, but people are only watching a few minutes of the video, on average. I know it depends on the subject, a person's interest, and how I'm presenting. I'm sure I can make more interesting video. I'm uploading one right now about a trip to town; it's a little different, not really to get views though I know it will test the water some. It's a balance between selling yourself, selling your work, without selling out 😊. All the best on your journey. 🙏🏽✝️

They have good hearts, I am praying the Holy Spirit will press gently upon their hearts and minds and the angels will cover them with their wings to protect and guide them safely to the Savior. I pray for the mind of Christ to be in me so that I will follow His law and Word continually to shed light and the kindness of God. I pray you will be blessed and healed We are now entering into a dark period, before Jesus comes for us. I'm sure my imagination is not able to know what is to be, but I sense it will be most terrible and relentless. Things are moving swiftly. It's like a dam that has begun to break. May God hold us in His secret place, in His arms to save us from destruction. Thank you for reading. I am going to download some of these and put them on thumb drives or some portable devices so they hopefully will be accessible when times are very rough and we will not have the freedom we have now. I'll pray for you and your family. I agree that time is short, that we have a wonderful hope in seeing Jesus. Each day we want to be faithful, to commune with him and serve others in his name. We have a "blessed hope". There are many trials and temptations ahead, but his grace is sufficient for us one day at a time. He is faithful to fulfill all of his promises. "For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations." - Psalm 100:5
