We've been rehearsing this one in the UU fellowship in Dekalb IL for a choir festival... and I still can't hit the notes correctly to save my life!

***** Nice. It's fun too. :)

FWIW -- We're doing this in my choir, now. I find it easiest to count in quarter notes -- 6/8 measures take three beats, 2/4 measures take 2 beat. The sections where 6/8 alternates with 2/4 are tricky; I think of them as 5-beat compounds. The _notes_ are dead easy; it's the _counting_ that's a bitch!<g>

I like that - from 1:14 - 1:25! Very neat; I never would've thought of that. How is that written in musical notation, anyway??

My favorite piece of Christmas choral music. My son sang this with his high school choir. It still gives me goosebumps.

How was your performance, Moistnuggetzzz? I'm going to sing this beautiful one too, next October. I regard the Western Illinois's was a good light to sail for us. Thanks so much to the singers and Dr. Stegall.

The English title of "The Ground" fits in with the overall scope of Ola Gjeilo's "Sunrise Mass." Yes, The Ground is part of a larger mass by Gjeilo (and is my favorite movement). While the text of each movement comes from the ordinary of the mass, the overall vision of the mass enlies in the titles of each movement, which creates an idea of the heavens coming down from the earth (which makes 'the ground' the last movement). I Hope this gives you a better understand of the English title!

Thanks for the video, it was nice to be able to make it Sunday. It was very beautiful music, and nice to see families there it would have been nice to bring my grandchildren to see also but they are on the other side of the country these days.
