What an excellent, informative video. I was just looking around Map 3D and stumbled across this. Marvellous stuff.

Hello sir. I am a humble revit technician from South Africa that finds himself working on projects based in England. for the most part If i get a georeferenced dwg I can then georeference my revit models quite easily but 1 of them has me stumped right now. So if I apply OSGB 36 to the dwg then everything seems to be in the right place but the coordinates provided on the plan do not match what I see in civil 3d. Furthermore I imported the British grid (which you so graciously provided a link to) and when I draw a polyline from the point in question back towards zero with Northing and Eastings provided on the plan, I unfortunately find that the grid tile also does not match up with the coordinates provided on the plan. Please can you help me understand this as I cannot seem to find an answer anywhere else

Export the Infraworks,, Chat GPT, Revit, Plant 3D, Civil 3D, Inventor, ENGI file of the Building or Refinery to Excel, prepare Budget 1 and export it to COBRA. Prepare Budget 2 and export it to Microsoft Project. Solve the problems of Overallocated Resources, Planning Problems, prepare the Budget 3 with which the construction of the Building or the Refinery is going to be quoted.

hello thanks for the help can you show us how we can get a destination as a shp file ?
@IanRobinson1 Жыл бұрын
Hi, I got the original file from the Ordnance Survey as a .gz file (A compressed GML file). I imported this then exported as a .shp file. You can purchase the data in shp format from a number of vendors. Note: I'm based in the UK. If you want to see more on AutoCAD Map 3D or Civil 3D with Mapping data then I have just posted another event I did. Here is the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iGG0nqaAeMuDgas. This video shows me importing the data and exporting the data plus some jiggery pockery to create 3D buildings.

NIce overview, if you needed to add more kerb laybacks you can always export the transitions to Excel and copy/paste as many as you need
@IanRobinson12 жыл бұрын
I've not tried that. If that works, it will be brilliant. Thanks for the tip.
@IanRobinson12 жыл бұрын
I've looked at this, and yes, it works brilliantly. You export to CSV (which Windows defaults to opening in Excel) and can add as many as you need. What I liked about this is that if the assembly doesn't exist at the chainage (station) you choose, Civil 3D will automatically add it. My top tip here is to build it without the drop kerbs first, then extract the back of footpath featurelines from the corridor. Make sure in the settings you tell it not be dynamic to the corridor and create a name template to include the side. Then set this as a target for the back of the footpath. This way when you import all your kerb transitions the back of the footpath remains at the correct level

🤣. They are live presentations. I don't post them for likes, or kudos. They are only posted because people ask me to post them so they can review them later. Anyway, this is the shortest one! The one with only 1 point (and one minor diversion). Don't watch the other ones, you'll hate them 😁

Hi, @ 16:56 you suggested there where other ways of tracing over a profile. What are they? I am using 12d at the moment and in that you dynamically put in and offset grade along a section. So at this section you would put it a 0%, but at the beginning i could put in an offset grade of 2.5% instead of creating that dummy surface. How can you do this in C3D?
@IanRobinson12 жыл бұрын
I used another method in the video for Grade Seperated Junctions. Have a look. I make it Static, then copy it, then make it dynamic again. I take the copied profile and change it's style and name and use that.
