I am a poor Indian and from last 20 years I have go for trek in various area of Great Himalayas and it occurs in almost every season of the year. At high altitude season and weather is most important. For example I do visit EBC through Tangboache and Dingboache,Lobuche in June. Experience is bad, finally what I want to tell is whenever anyone telling about trek, date must be mentioned.

Very inspiring. I see lot of people going to Everest very unprepared. If I'm going to grocery store I check kitchen and prepare list of things needed and then go there, get it. Some people are trekking to highest altitude land on earth (EBC) and absolutely unprepared with fitness, and high altitude sickness and literally complaining entire way. But you guys are equally active.

Glad you had an amazing time here..Growing up in New Zealand freedom camping was actually freedom camping you could pull up to any beach or river or bush and camp for free. Now its even harder and harder to find any free camping here.. Gone are the good days when you could head out for the weekend and camp for free..now it's all about money here and unappreciative Campers foreign and local not been tidy.. I hope your next trips are just as incredible

We will be going for 21 days and we have a camper van. How much did it all cost you together/each. looks so good and im looking forward to going to some of the places you did. Cheers mate

Hello altitude sickness is a major concern to me , firstly because my wife takes aspirin daily , so I am searching for the best acclimatization itinerary, at Phakding will do a 300 m hike high and sleep low , being the first rotation and then in Namche we will sleep three nights instead of two . The two days will comprise of two hikes high sleep low , one to Thame and back +600 m and the other Khumjung +460 m . Prior starting the trek to Gokyo with the same itinerary as you . What do you think ?
@lifeinthesound
@lifeinthesound Жыл бұрын
@waxonwaxoff6094 I completed this trek in April. Our first night was Phakding, then we had two nights in Namche. If altitude sickness is a concern, an additional night in Namche with day hikes should help. Hiking slowly each day will as well. I didn’t experience altitude sickness, but once I arrived at Namche, the altitude did impact my appetite and it made it hard for me to stay fueled throughout the trek. By the time I reached Dole, I was forcing myself to finish my Dal Baht each night…and I really love Dal Baht! I learned you burn around 3xs your MBR at 11,000 feet, so fueling properly is just as important. Highly recommend that you bring snacks to consume during the hike each day as well. It’s an amazingly beautiful trek!

@@lifeinthesound hi , thank you for taking the time to reply to my message and so soon . We are leaving on the 25/10 , yes I think that the three nights in Namche including two hikes high and sleep low will help indeed.when reaching Phakding we will try and also do one hike high and sleep low rotation. Thanks for the tip regarding the snacks .

Gokyo RI is my dream since when I was a kid. I am now 21 and hope very soon I get to do this trek. To be honest, when you reached Gokyo RI, I was so overwhelmed that I started to cry. James.

Hey Jungle Man. This rear hatch cover was great. It really opens up your cooking area to be all weather. Helpful for blocking the wind and not too difficult to put up. The bad: it’s heavy and you need a spot to put it when it’s wet. Luckily we had it all up on the rooftop bin. I think all said it’s definitely worth it because it has more practical protection than a batwing or some side awning.

@@groovymashedpotatoes1361 Thanks Mashed Potates.I went ahead and bought one made here in Auckland NewZealand,localy,called "Intenze".$500 NZ dollars. Was a demo one,came with all the extras and the rear of it lifts out as an extra awning.Got it far cheaper than full price.Getting used to it,and will water proof it aswell.Very pleased with it.Not many here in NZ so I hope I can advertise it while useing it.
