I've been there three times and I can't pass that thing anytime I go there I always have to stop it or try and change the spin or try and look up a constellation. Thank you I don't know why anybody would give it a thumbs down. What are you NBC? Beautiful thank you you just gave more value to my vacation.

The trail actually runs 65 miles around the whole lake. However on an out-and-back like this you can pick your distance. From memory I think we did about 20 miles - and of course its mostly flat.

Stressful! Reminds me of biking across the George Washington bridge in NYC. One false move and you scrape into concrete wall or get hit by speeding cars if you go left. Not for relaxation.

Actually the camera makes it seem more intense - yes - have to be alert - but my sense is traffic very used to bikers on this route and although they are going fast they are leaving room when passing.

Katelyn, understood. Those days in China are gone, now people commute by bus, car and eBike. However, you can see in the parking garage at the end of this - that there are a lot of bikes being ridden to work! Over in G block the parking is even larger - most bikes parked I've seen. Also lot of people use OfO bike share bikes - those yellow bikes you can see - and obviously they simply park them outside when they get to front gate. Hope that helps.

Biking side-by-side on a road, when you're not passing, is a very stupid way to bike. You can see at 1:50 and again at 3:05 (and I'm sure several other times but I had to stop watching) that a car had to enter the on-coming lane near a blind corner just to get by you. Then, when there is a bike lane, you stay on the road being in the way of traffic. This video angers me so much. People like you think you own the road and don't care about anyone else. You give the good bikers out there, a bad name. This is why people hate all bikers, instead of just hating assholes like you. I wish there was an IQ test when buying a bike. That way morons like you wouldn't be allowed to own one.

@@AM-eh2bp Cycling two abreast is actually legal in Ontario. It's technically not in Quebec, where Gatineau Park is, but the Park is under the jurisdiction of the National Capital Commission, not Quebec's provincial road laws. Gatineau Park is right across the Ottawa River, from Ontario. You'd be very hard pressed to convince the thousands of cyclists that ride in this park each season (which, by the way, prohibits vehicular traffic during certain times of the year to allow cyclists to ride more safely) to ride single file.
@mitch4838

Bro who cares it’s a park. A vehicle operator can move their fragile wrist and safely steer out of their way and then accelerate using a methane pedal and be on their way. In fact, it would take less exertion to pass 2 cyclists side by side than trying to understand why you care so much

John, camera overlays are done with Garmin Edit software using the GPS from Garmin device. Then using OpenShot software to overlay that on green screen, and combining that with the original image. You can find videos on using OpenShot editor. The original video is from my Fly6 rear light/video recorder.

I am tempted to go with the helmet mount to, hopefully, get less vibration. I like what agingbrit had to say on the Garmin forums. Is there a way to bypass verb edit altogether? I prefer Linux and love OpenShot as well.
@davidwebber6895
@davidwebber6895 10 жыл бұрын
If you want the overlay of the controls with speed, cadence, etc - you need Virb Edit. The new Virb edit is way better and lots of nice choices of control styles. What I did was record green screen sequence using Virb - then overlay controls on green screen. Then use OpenShot to combine that with original video footage.

David Webber I am glad to know that edit is improved. I cannot justify buying a windows 7 or 8 pc with all the headaches that go along with that. I have been windows free for over a decade and like the 'mac, never go back' quip I am ruined for good. Plus, edit does not play nice with wine. I can be satisfied, I suppose, without realtime stats. The resolution is very good. I would guess that the 800,000 pound gorilla that is Microsoft (tm) has all manufacturers cowed, especially following strong arming Tom Tom into dropping Linux as a base for it's GPS hardware. It is sad because I have been, and continue to be, loyal to Garmin but that is a one way street.

VIRB actually is very good. KZbin does not do full justice to final quality of video (make sure you are seeing in HD mode BTW - default is loosy 360 mode). VirbEdit software still has a long way to go to meet biking needs. Right now its OK for short clips - 1 or 2 minutes - that you want to put on KZbin.

I'm riding the River Mountains Loop while I'm out there for NYE and really want to ride to the dam during that ride. Is the Railroad Tunnel trail doable on 25mm 700cc tires? I have a Felt road bike. Thanks!
@MDBikerDude
@MDBikerDude 10 жыл бұрын
Road tires is a stretch. I'm not saying it cannot be done - as I'm sure someone has (CX riders) - we were riding on 20" x 1 1/4" tires so much wider less slippage - and low gears. However the good news is that the Lake Meade trails are perfect for road biking - see my companion video for that.

Alex Mark No! Stay off the freeways! But there are side roads and bike trails you can ride alongside the freeway and to connect. Note: car rentals cheap; Hasenda Hotel near the dam is $50 a night and recommended.

We do appreciate your kind comments, and pleased that you enjoyed the property. However, I just want to make sure other cyclists know that the entrance road to the resort and the golf course are neither safe, nor legal, for bicycle riders (or pedestrians) and are on Tribally protected land. Tamaya Blvd to Jemez Dam is a wonderful, safe and legal thoroughfare to bike and enjoy the beauty of Santa Ana Pueblo.

I hope I'm helping promote your facilities, because what you have is truly beautiful and blessed to share with the world. Agree, proper separation of times is key to ensure no one is endangering their fellow travelers. Respect and courtesy; certainly everyone there was that. Some folks are getting out there really early, or finishing off late in the day too, but everyone is enjoying doing what they like. And including the coyotes!

MDBikerDude, you were not riding on our course cart paths after-hours, you clearly ran into our paying customers. The road to Tamaya and Twin Warriors is strictly off-limits to bicyclists and foot travel because of the danger. You may not ride a bicycle on the cart paths at any time and had we known, we would have removed you from the course immediately. .

The paths down are definitely NOT ridable! I'm hard core single trail and CX guy - and I know the limits - plus it is also not permitted (sensibly). However - on next day we did hike down the south trail - which was great we went down 2,000ft and back up in 3 hours - 2 hours down, one hour up - but did not run video of that - just did still photos.
