Loved the cooking analogy 😃In 1972, when I was 12 - the girls were always asked whose posters they had on their bedroom wall. Always either David Cassidy, or Donny Osmond. I would look them right in the eye and say 'Alice Cooper ... duuh!'

I was just about to read a digital copy of the book but found an available audiobook at my library. The story didn’t have any gut wrenching belly laughs, but I did have a silly grin on my face while reading. I rated it 4/5 stars. I need to reread a the digital copy so I can underline some of the funny dialogue. Only one example: “Dried animal carcasses hung from the ceiling, along with crosses and hundreds of little air fresheners in the shape of pine trees”. I’ll never look at a pine tree freshener the same way again.

The Nora Kelly series were usually 3 stars. I haven’t started the Gideon Crew or the Wyman Ford series yet. Also some of the early Stand Alone novels remain unread. Summer 1960 NYC . My two sisters and I went to a summer matinee movie for kids. We could walk to the theater. It was some kind of religious movie which was approved by the local parochial school we attended. We knew another movie was next so we slid down in our seats while the Movie Matrons cleared out the kids. ( Movie Matrons were a real thing). They didn’t notice us. The next movie started; it was “Village of the Dammed”. I actually don’t know how long we sat there until we started screaming. We must have been extremely loud. They stopped the movie, turned on the lights and hustled us to the lobby. The theater called our parents, and our Dad came to get us. To this day, I still remember the eyes and light hair on the kids. I still avoid reading “The Midwich Cuckoos” by John Wyndham.

Kolchak. 😁 The Sonja Blue books by Nancy A. Collins, if you want vampires. The Nightside series by Simon R. Green, for something creepy (as I remember it). What I really look for in novelizations such as these that are adaptations of another media (tv, video games etc.) are: well written prose that helps me easily visualize what's going on, a good story, consistency of characters and themes such that it still feels like a story from the same franchise.

Next time you talk to Lynne, tell her I said hey.You mentioned wanting to read the revised version of Goblins, What's Wrong with the Baby? It's no longer out under that title. I'm going back to the original title Goblins since any reviews don't carry over to the new title. Anyway, I've been rereleasing all my 90's horror books in revised versions with Crossroad Press, eBook and paperback. Die Laughing, Deadly Diet, The Room are already out with Vampire Beat and Goblins coming soon. David Dodd did some cool covers with a 90's vibe. It was a blast getting the chance to rewrite the past and prune the deadwood from my stories. Anyway, thanks for the review. Maybe my revisions can get Goblins to a 4.5. 😊
