I don't know if this would help in such an application, but I found a forum discussion of Varioclean. They suggest rinsing off the items sprayed with Varioclean, after the 5 minutes. I just did my hedge trimmer blades using this method, and that got most of the gunk off pretty easy. Then I wiped at any remaining sludge, and it came off fairly well. I would do this with any plastic parts too because the Varioclean product is pretty strong and might discolor it or worse over time. It's an alkaline based detergent.

The cheapo one that came with it kept giving me problems - after a full replacement, 2 carbs and hours of servicing it became more cost effective to just ditch it and buy something less finicky! :P

Lol. I see why you don't like it. Your using it WRONG! Did you forget to read the directions? Or did your watch someone else's video where they forgot to read also? Your supposed to rest that angle guide plate on the tooth, not the depth gauge! Glad I could help.😂

I’ve had one with similar issues, autotune reset works but not for long, unsure of the issue but confident it’s not the carb piece as others online have mentioned 👍

What about plasma cutting the holes and then die grinding to a nice finish, saving time effort, and if you cut the bar while in a little water it’ll not heat up to mess up the temper of the bar and the grain structure of the steel

Hey mate, just brought mine, what's your run time like? I've got a 10 inch 1/4 pitch bar and chain and hardly manage 30 mins of topping a laurel hedge, any idea if the battery life gets better or maybe I've got a dodgy one? Cheers!

Hey mate no that’s pretty normal, they’re an ideal saw for high movement to cutting scenarios; wouldn’t be my first choice for hedge topping 😉

How are you finding the blades, are they as soft a steel as the FM6DD blades? Are they steel just forged steel and not heat treated?
@NotYourAverageTreeMan
@NotYourAverageTreeMan 4 ай бұрын
They appear to be about the same as the small ones - still relatively soft for a cutting blade IMO… However, because the blade is much wider instead of dragging through ‘shreds’ wherever it takes a knock to the edge, it seems to get picked up and cut by a sharper section of the blade before it becomes an issue… Put some brand new ones in the other day and smashed hard holly, beech and very dead hawthorn, still razor 👍
