The colour spectrum is amazing for a moonstone, wow. Looks like an opal.

No value just a fraud
@gemgazer15542 ай бұрын
This is a hand cut natural gemstone with uncommon inclusions and absolutely has value to anyone who understands and appreciates the beauty of nature. I don't see where fraud comes into it. Value is determined by a combination of interest, scarcity and supply. Your are entitled to your opinion, but fortunately for anyone with an ounce of intelligence, nobody needs to pay it any attention to it.

Beautiful! How is this pattern made?
@gemgazer15543 ай бұрын
The black pattern is probably a simple graphic print onto a transparent film which is laid over the Opal base and capped with a natural Quartz dome. The effect is quite cool though :)

Thanks for helping me identify mine. It’s stumped many. Exact match in regards to the petroleum the water gas bubbles plus the negative crystals except mine is 4.564kg and much busier inside. It's a work of art it really is! It's been almost 50 years. I was getting so frustrated because I couldn't find anything that looked like those ribbons and that color of petroleum. Mine are dried up but boy did they leave something awesome in its place

Is it from resin?

Synthetic Opals (or to be more precise, opal simulants) like this are created using a complex process using a glassy silica.

Have you had any experience with people using these in engagement rings?
@gemgazer155411 ай бұрын
I have seen a few gems like this one set in jewellery and they look superb in white metal (gold or platinum).
@Houdini-d11 ай бұрын
Is this natural or man made? I’ve been on your site but not seen this yet and it looks like a stone I would love to use in my engagement ring. The setting is quite involved so we are deciding on a colourless sapphire (will email you shortly) but now this calcite comes into play. I never knew calcite to be so incredibly clear.❤

It’s an absolutely natural gemstone! 😀. I usually load videos of gems which are due to be added to my website a few days before they are listed for sale. This one will be part of my update on March 1st.
