I wrap my bread in paper towels before I freeze. If frost builds up in the package the paper towels absorb so the bread doesn’t get wet.

My mom always kept bread in the freezer. I do to and when at home, toast it. I take bread out of the freezer and make a sandwich for lunch, which I take to work and eat about 4 hours later. Does the now unfrozen bread have a high glycemic index?

So I'm not alone..LOL. Have been freezing my bread for 40years....when I moved out into my first house I froze my bread so I could have nice soft bread for the entire loaf. Maybe that's why I'm still healthy and fit at 60??

Doing it since I can remember! It lasts a LOG TIME in the freezer. I keep my fridge and freezer as cold as possible, without the fridge freezing anything. My saying is, "The bread MAKES the sandwich!" If you like whole grain, try Dave's bread. If you like whit bread, please don't buy cheap generic. The Rowanberry Buttermilk bread and Farm white are DELICIOUS! Great article!❤

It’s a cleaner and not a lubricant and the door will stuck again and wd40 will breakdown the leather and rubber so be careful use silicone on door hinges and other waterproof wax on leather to moisture

I recommend using postbiotic resonant magnetic fibers with decentralized intermittent breadrecepies in your freezer. The starch gets trivialized in minutes by cryogenic re-iterated alcaloidal sinuses. If you didn't know those things about bread already, then you grew up without parents, and never went to school.

I use mine for birdseed from bulk bags, and the bag goes in an empty cooler (so not to attract mice also) until it’s lightweight enough for me to carry.

I toast bread at low heat for longer period of time, and it gets you a thicker and tastier crust. Yes, you can do it straight from the freezer, which is even better. I’ve been freezing bread for years, simply to preserve it for longer, it worked fine, and did not ruin the taste, so why not? I did not know about the digestive benefit. Fresh homemade bread, however, will taste best before freezing, of course, but after the first day, it's always better to freeze the leftovers. Instead of freezing, you can also place bread in your refrigerator, it works great.

I've got an old catering-size chest freezer in my garage, more or less full of frozen bread. I estimated that I probably had 30 loaves in there but, I've just been out there and can confirm that I have... 🥁🥁🥁74. 74 loaves of wholemeal bread. I should really stop buying 'reduced aisle' bread from our local mini supermarket. But...I see the yellow stickers saying *WAS £1.79/ NOW 10p!* and I forget logic, see bargains and still have at least 1/2 of the BIGLY freezer space to fill. Then there's rotation, of course...as a former food scientist I know the importance of using the oldest-dated bread first. Did you know that a FULL freezer works more efficiently and uses less electricity because you're keeping the items (usually bread) frozen and not freezing empty spaces, because the more bread you have in your freezer, the less empty spaces you have. *I love science. Bread. And bargains.* 😊

Resistant starch is useful. It didnt break off mine keto diet! I could have feks rice, boil it a little longer, let cool a little; put into refrigerator over the night. Next day I could prepare the rice as I wished. Being in ketosis, I warmed it up with lotsa fat - butter or oil or .... etc. Even a good portion didnt broke of my ketosis....

I have been making my own bread for several years and given the quantity, I froze them. on the other hand, I defrosted the loaf before eating it as toast... Does freezing it and then thawing it produce the same benefit? I am considering possibly slicing it before freezing if I get less of the benefits...Please let me know about this.

I first read about this way of cutting GI levels when I was on the GI diet many years ago. Since then, I always freeze my bread and toast it straight from the freezer. It also saves money, as supermarkets often charge less if one buys two loaves of the same make, so it's possible to buy a selection of loaves, add variety at breakfast time, save money and do one's body a favour at the same time, plus no worry about all that bread going mouldy! Thanks for sharing this very useful information, which has taught me a little more than I originally knew about the benefits of freezing bread. I hope many more see this and try it themselves.

After I slice a loaf of sourdough bread, I freeze it in a linen bread bag. Each morning, I take a slice and toast it frozen, then give it a thick spread of butter and a very generous amount of honey. It's my morning ritual; I've been doing it for ages and don't have any gut issues. 👍

My wife has been doing this, like forever, however more for fear of actually running out, se we often have four loaves in the freezer. And guess what, she it diabetic... I used to wonder about her reading when the grabbed a slice or two, but it never seemed to effect her readings, so something is right.
