Hey Shane, thanks for stopping by. I've been busy, so I am catching up. What if things go right! Good day!
@ziggysbeesКүн бұрын
Well if things go right. I'll just count that towards the balance of the things going wrong..lol it all evens out. I wondered something else about fences, do they short out with snow?
@lambbrookfarm4528Күн бұрын
@@ziggysbees That's my thinking, I connected from the top down, hot, ground, hot, ground, hot, with the bottom hot so I can disconnect it when the snow builds up.

Hey Alex, yes I'm happy about this yard because I can do anything. So I can sell nucs and bees from there. Gives me a feeling of at least moving forward. Hope you and your bees are doing well.

Out of the four I found eggs and queen in three, cell in other, which is weird I don't know how there would be a cell with no queen. Unless I just didn't see her and they are superseding her already. But three is good. Lol

Not bad, most colonies the same, one of concern but rest are bringing in lots of nectar, so supers are already filling up if not already full. More supers soon I think. Hope your day's good, great vids. Congrats again on the queens

Indeed, it was hot here the last few days, 88 f for a high. Hot for us northerners. I added frames to my Layens hives and supered my Langs. Bees have been very active. We need rain here as we have had less than 2" for the month so far. I will have to start watering my garden if we don't get rain this weekend. I have one strong hive that I expect will have capped queen cells today or tomorrow. Time for splits. We seem to have similar timing. Thanks for sharing, take care, Brice

@ziggysbees16 күн бұрын
The good thing is at least we're in the race, lol. And ya this time of heightened resources really makes them want to swarm but keep on them and you'll build your honey producers, best of luck to all of us.lol

like you're doing here, I've been thinking of bringing my bigger hives some drawn honey supers to give em extra room.

The new hive I made is massive with brood, bees and I put three cells in. They may kill them but hey may not. Lol. Either way going to make it draw comb. Hope your plan works for you. Right now I'm just riding the finally into my bees feeling..thks for watching. Take Care.

Nice looking nucs! We are about the same situation. I made ten nucs to sell a month ago and am selling the first today. Mine are 5 frame nucs and when I went to put this first one into an EZ Nuc for transport, I was amazed at how well it had done. All the others were the same. With very little sugar syrup they had filled the entire nuc with brood and stores. Even with all the rain we have had, very similar to your video. They have done so well, and since I have drawn comb, I've decided to keep the other nine for honey production, THIS year! We have about a couple months of the flow here in the Mountains of Western North Carolina, USA. The weather is about to become sunny and bright. I'm thinking as single deeps and medium supers the bees might fill 18 supers. Maybe I'm dreaming but, why not! Then I will have to decide, over-winter them or sell them as single deep colonies.
@ziggysbees18 күн бұрын
Hi Richard, that's great from the sounds all's going well there too. My only problem right now is I haven't been inspected yet. Can't sell anything till I am. So I may be deeper into the honey collection for this year by no choice of my own. Oh well more honey, more money. Lol take care. Best of the year to you sir

Are there enough apple blooms to make an impact on your honey's taste?
@ziggysbees23 күн бұрын
Hey Alex, yes and no. There are lots of true and crab apples but there is also so many other sources it would be hard to tell. It's a strange year so much blooming at same time. Let's hope it's a good flow.

Howdy Shane, you seem to be just a bit ahead of me here swamp side. I hefted a couple hives today, not putting on weight, but the number of bees is really increasing. I am in the process of building 4 horizontal Layens hives. Tomorrow, I hope to have the main hive bodies insulated with wool and the exteriors on. Then it's time to make tops and bottoms. Things look like they are moving along, thanks for the update, peace, Brice

Hey Lamb, I had too many bees and brood, either split or I'm sure soon they would hit the trees. They have everything right now coming in and walking drones so I'm hoping things all work out. Sounds like your busy too. You'll have to let me know how things work out. Take care.

@PennsylvaniaBeekeeper29 күн бұрын
Shane, good to see that spring has arrived for your bees. I'm interested to see how much honey the bees collect for you. My flow down here in Pennsylvania has just begun, I'm surprised to see your bee's collecting nectar. How long does your main flow usually last?
@ziggysbees29 күн бұрын
hey Darren. I was surprised too, our flow usually starts in June but we get a slow build up from this point on. It lasts till mid July. Then if good conditions good, get goldenrod aster around end July Aug. I'm hoping it's a good year, hope your year does well too.
