Awesome captures of the Mark V, I'll definitely get it in a pack with the new BRTL and SWRT DI caps. Also, I have a suggestion, speaking of Mesa Boogie, are there any future plans to capture a Lonestar? I feel like this model lacks high quality captures in the Tonex universe. It would be great to get some wonderful Timmons tones with it. =)

You should demonstrate with and without compression fx of ToneX, cleans amps react very differently with compressor in front

Amalgam, are you considering making captures for the Hotone Ampero line? Now with the arrival of Tone Catch for the Ampero II Stomp, I believe its popularity will grow, and I can assure you that I’d happily spend some hard-earned dollars on your work😆. They have a community for sharing Tone Catches, but it would be great to have someone like you release packs so we could have a real reference🤩. Cheers, and I hope you have an amazing 2025!🙏

Can someone explain to me what's the difference on DI, AMP + CAB, AMP on amalagam captures
@jvshangout6 күн бұрын
The DI captures are created with the amplifiers working in conjunction with the speakers or cabinets they have been intended to operate with. The captures are created at full volumes, without attenuators or other devices in the chain that might affect the tone. Each cabinet has its own characteristic load on the amplifier, which affects its tone and response. The DI signal is tapped directly from the amps output, not an attenuator or load box, keeping the most natural and authentic response of each amp. DI (Direct Injection) is the best representation on the amp, and allows you to use your own IR, Cabs that give you the ultimate tone flexibility. AMP + CAB (Amplifier + Cabinet): Captures the sound of a guitar amp and its speaker cabinet, either by mic'ing them or using simulation. Provides warmth and character. AMP (Amplifier only): Captures the amp’s tone directly through a microphone, focusing on its natural distortion and characteristics. Most people prefer the DI captures as you can pair it with different IR's like York Audio ones, etc.. to really get a great tone. Hope this helps.

I think you should demonstrate with and without compressor in front for clean amps. The way an amp respond to a fast compressor is something important to listen ❤to

Guys, what input levels do you recommend to use with your captures? I use Rupert Neve DI which doesn't have any knobs and usually add about 13 dB and find them not as hot as Fabian has them. I use PAF humbuckers. Thank you!

Dial in the input on the ToneX app so that it is short before clipping and you're good to go.

@shaunkattenhorn498914 күн бұрын
How do you use your DI captures with your real cabinet with the ToneX? With the quad cortex I use my power stage 200 through my effects loop with the direct captures. The ToneX does not have an effects loop. Do you just go in direct to something like the power stage and it works the same?
@FabianRatsakGuitar11 күн бұрын
Yes, I am using this setup with the tonex …using an class D poweramp …just make sure the output of the tonex gets boosted because it’s not really loud. I am using it with an ampero stage in the loop and boosting the loop about 10dB ….it’s really kicking with my band …played a lot of shows and couldn’t be happier! Also I am experimenting with a tube poweramp that doesn’t color the tone because as we know the poweramp is already baked in the captures…I should say I am using DI captures with a regular 2x12 cabinet No FRFR!

The first tube amp I ever tried was my old roommate's 60-something Super Reverb. Can you imagine going from a Peavey Express 112 to that? Ha ha. That SR is still one of the best amps I've ever used; probably THE best, really.

@amalgamaudioLV17 күн бұрын
No, the Super Reverb got a V2 because it is one of my oldest releases from almost 2 years back. I could make it sound more authentic thanks to experience, ears learning along the way and way upgraded equipment. The REX release and many before it are cutting edge as far as our know-how and equipment goes.
