I just sold my deluxe copy of Rising Sun. Beautiful game, but it doesn't hit the table often enough to warrant all that space for boxes and the mat. $300 takes up a lot less space. 😅

That's totally valid! I've accepted that sometimes even if I like a game it might not get played, so I've let go of games i like to free up some space

- I really want to try River of Gold! That's one I've been seeing in a lot of Top 10's, and it seems like it might be right up my alley. - Beyond the Sun has been on my "want to play" list for a while--glad to hear it still holds up (even given the spreadsheet like look)! - WOW--I really need to try Seti. I was ready to let this one pass on by given the looks, but I've heard so many people praising this game. I've heard it's great for people who love Lost Ruins of Arnak...

I used to sleeve EVERYTHING, back when all we had was Mayfair sleeves.... These days i stick to sleeving deck-builders mostly. Good episode. Definitely following y'all. (Robert, from SATX)

@@BoardAndScale Unfortunately I use a mix of Dragon shields (matte clear for games i play a ton like Race for the Galaxy), Gamegenic and Titan Shield. Typically whatever is easier to find or cheaper. I agree it is better to stick with one brand for pulling sleeves from other games and reusing them.

I think a coop game would be a good first game. Both win or lose, work together, and a lot of open communication. I wouldn’t want to play a game like the weight of wingspan unless the other has played so that way a casual conversation could happen. Nothing with heavy conflict/interaction those games can cause very negative emotions that wouldn’t go well on a first date.

Definitely on the side of wanting to do the teaching more than being taught. Mostly because I think many gamers don’t know how to teach game well. Also, I love reading rulebooks!

Those rule changes after Previews used to get me all the time. Now I almost exclusively use rulebooks. Same thing with "reviews" for crowd funded games. I've picked up a few after a Preview made it look awesome, but the rules never got cleaned up as promised, or some components were complete garbage.

Man, I need to try Tapestry and Tidal Blades!! I can see why Dice Throne is at the bottom... I had high hopes for that game, but it just didn't click for me... (P.S., I'm still always amazed by how clean your audio is being how much you guys are handling the mics... Do you run any filters over it or is that all just the built-in noise reduction?)

Con recaps are the best! That Arcs campaign was amazing, and it only took us 7 hours. I still got like 6 more plays after that lol. 8 player TI4 you guys will be lucky to finish in the day. 🤣
