If it turns but does not spin, the water level switch may be blocked. It will not fast spin if it thinks there is water still in the tub.

I've checked everything you've shown and its all fine and I'm getting 250v to the switch but it won't strike an arc at all.... any ideas?

are you getting voltages at the transformer and after transformer

@@cagmito76 primary transformer at on/ off switch 250v but 0v between earth & primary transformer at the thermal cut out. The electrode holder & ground clamp have 45v Edit: it arced between the electrode & ground clamp, will try later (I've changed nothing knowingly since it didn't work)

@@NorthFenFarm if your getting voltage between electrode and ground it suggests it ok ? what voltages does the welder say it should be on label ? using good rods is ground good. Check resistance on electrode and ground cables maybe a bad connection? .

This looks like the same bulb cover as my LEC fridge but, on closer inspection, it appeared that there was no screw. I had to wiggle and pull at it for a few moments in order to release it. It seemed to go back on easily enough, although I'm not 100% convinced it's been re-secured in position. Not the best design, I have to say.

These torches work well enough but a little fiddly to get the arc to stay. Some people complain that the heat spreads but while it is possible to braze with an old-fashioned paraffin blow-lamp, the heat spreads likewise.

Hi there, I have 10ohms between the copper lid and the positive terminal? It’s not a dead short but the rdc it tripping so I’m thinking my tank has a short to ground through the lid some how?

yes 10 ohms is a massive fail it should be Mohms minimum
