Two people are alley cats We have an unhappy cat He is restless, needs attention, loses patience, seeks affection Monkey grooms, blossom blooms Do you dig germs, The Germs? Well we wear each others heads like hats Speak in tongues like alley cats Cradle them in both our laps When we lie alone Wear each others heads like hats Speak in tongues like alley cats Cradle them in both our laps And we die alone Well we sleep inside a blanket-y bed Planted like the crocuses In the song my mother said She wanted us to sing We sleep inside a blanket-y bed Planted like the crocuses And I wish my mother could See the ring I got Oh oh there is no pain I know Oh oh there is no pain I know Oh oh there is no pain I know The other night you said you might try to kill that thing I love It is too strong for you, it is encased in glass and stone The other night you said you might try to kill that thing I love It is invincible, it is encased in glass and stone You painted a song, you painted a song It started when I was young and now it is in my lung You painted a song, you painted a song It started when I was young and now it is in my lung Two people are alley cats I get to thinking about our cat He is restless, needs attention, loses patience, seeks affection Monkey grooms, blossom blooms 'Do You Dig Worms?' The Worms?

I saw them perform this at Lollapalooza some years ago and it was amazing. As if them covering dancing in the dark wasn't good enough when it kicked into all my friends I lost my mind.

Hot Chip is arguably the best live band ever: Harmonizing vocals, superb instrumentation, zapping effects and soul-stomping nostalgia.

Love the whole vibe of this Glasto set, the songs are infectious and the band seem to be really enjoying themselves. The female drummer is a joy to watch.

fantastic to see there is this side to Glasto and not just the sanitised stuff BBC thinks it should show. Yard Act were immense at festivals last year (GM & EOTR).

Even in the televised stages, check out Turnstile and Amyl And The Sniffers on iPlayer. Magic place. Something for everyone, no dickheads, don't believe it's just for any one kind of people, all is love. X

Sorry I hate how they turned the synth down and the drums up. This song Is all about the super dark ominous synth.

Hmm, well on one hand you've got how it sounds on TV, and on the other KZbin got how it sounds in the field. I might be wrong, but I seem to remember this being really powerful stood fairly centrally, the sound system at the West Holts stage always sounds really *rich*, y'know? Then, for TV, it's always gonna have a clearer sound. If you make it all loud bassy synth, and hide the drums away in the mix, you take the risk of it sounding muddy to the live audience, especially in an open air setting, when the drums have no walls or ceiling to bounce off. So while you make a fair point about what makes this song work, there's the notoriously finicky festival sound practicalities, but also Sarah Jones powerful, driving drums was a big part of what made this Hot Chip era so enjoyable. Her driving rhythm got everyone in the field on the same page, moving as one, it was an awesome night. I went on a bit here, haha, but I'm back at Glastonbury Festival in ten weeks, and this just got me thinking of how I enjoy the sound quality at this stage in particular. Can't wait to see who's playing West Holts stage in 2022. 😎
