@@rebelliongaming2651 I have built several amplifiers and DAC and bluetooth. inside either larger aluminum boxes or plastic boxes. The big problem with electronics is always heat. The L15D class-d board, which has a relatively large heatsink from the factory, gives 150w rms. Then 200-300w should have an even bigger heatsink!? L15d doesn't get very hot, but hot enough that you should have a fan inside a case. The fan makes noise and has a lifetime and causes you to get a lot of dust inside the box in exactly the same way as a computer. There aren't many transistor-based class-d that you can mount on a heatsink. Hypex ucd180 is one that has that option, but it is only 80w and doesn't get that hot. Class-d not only gets hot when you play loud music but also from noise that is filtered out by the output filter.
@rebelliongaming265114 күн бұрын
@@ford1546 thank you for sharing your experience, I also do DIY audio using budget-friendly Class D amplifiers, but I've never dealt with power above 150W RMS, so a single low-noise fan running at low RPMs has been sufficient for heat dissipation in my case. I'm excited for my next DIY project using a TPA3255 2.1 amp 😇
@theonlyjimjonesАй бұрын
What do you mean the heatsink isn't big enough? I have a 3500w power acoustik razor3500d and beating down the block for almost an hour, it barely get warmer than my hand.
@arthureschner931911 күн бұрын
I question that amp's ratings. It claims Max 2100W RMS into 1ohm load, so not sure where the 3500w magically comes from. But regarding the heat, the entire chassis is basically a heat sink. So it's actually got good thermal dissipation.

@jdlechАй бұрын
I noticed that the coils moved easily when you poked them. They should all be glued to the board to reduce vibration. Overall, it's a good board for the price. But class D can be done so much better. The world is already awash in cheap mediocre amps like this one. Especially with Korean engineering and Chinese production. There are some great class D amps with just a few extra components - but they're ridiculously priced for no reason other than pure greed.

Nice job, looks good. Thank you! But what i see when I tested small amplifiers, is that the heat is normal. You send 1Khz to the amplifier without pauses (music is not continues) and that will heat up the radiator. Normally this will not happen when you playing music so it wil stay cooler. But i like the way you test, nice! 💯

48V x 5A = 240W. So how can it produce an uptput of '300W+300W? Only RMS values are of any use. These values quoted are PMPO.
@arthureschner931911 күн бұрын
It's not PMPO, but I believe the 300W rating is based on 53v supply with 10% distortion. So probably about 270W of clean RMS.

Fosi audio V3 can give a higher volume compared to the ZA3 but the sound of both is better than my Yamaha V6A and they both manage to satisfy my Haco aurora 1000 speakers without problems and do not heat up too much by using a power suplay of 48V 5A.

There were a tone of those amplifiers boards dumped onto the market. Most are "repaired" boards that were returned after failing in their primary application. Check these boards *very* carefully before you fire them up. The chart on the front pages of the data sheet tells the story .... at low distortion.... 100 watts per channel on 8 ohms and 200 on 4.... The 300 claim is for 10% distortion which would drive the chip into protection in very short order.

watts in the data sheet are in 10%THD which is very common for this type of amplifier ic. 10%THD is a useless measurement and not nice to listen to. You should measure watts in 1%THD and then you will get MUCH MUCH less watts out of the amplifier! Also see that THD is measured in 1 watt, which is USELESS as you will always get better THD in 1 watt than 100 watts. THD= total harmonic distortion. The factory does not write the whole truth. It looks like it's a better amp than it is. Heatsink never manages 128w watts either
