Konica auto s2 is for you... Konica's Auto-S2 was manufactured in the mid-1960's. Like rangefinders of its era, it is huge and hefty. It comes with a fixed 45mm lens that has a maximum aperture of f1.8, which can be stopped down to f16 with a continuous, clickless aperture ring. There's a leaf shutter that fires at speeds ranging from 1s to 1/500s, with an additional bulb mode. It also seems there's a shutter priority auto exposure mode - something I did not really pay attention to until I started writing this. A little needle and dial on top of the camera for displaying the light meter's choices, and a built in extensible hood for the lens were some cool novelties I discovered on this camera. Aside those, everything else was pretty standard. You had the ever-present film advance lever, a film rewind crank, and on the bottom there was a battery check button, as well as the usual button that disengages the film for rewinding.

Fun video 😊 I recently bought a canon 7 with a Canon 50mm f1.8. My lens looked clear but I got haze when I shot into light. You can spot the haze by unscrewing the lens and looking at it from above with the light source also coming from above. If the lens has haze it will appear a little milky. These lenses are prone to haze. Maybe check yours so you can contact the seller if there is an issue. I only suggest this because the early outdoor shots were a little hazy. It could just be the light. I did enjoy the video though. The canon 7 is a superb camera. Great choice for your first.

Great pick up. I have the same camera and lens. I wanted to take the Canon 7 and 50mm 1.4 with me when I went to Japan in March, but that camera is SO HEAVY. It takes excellent photos, but I knew my neck would be sore after a few hours. Instead I brought a smaller and lighter Olympus OM2n with me. The Canon 7 is really a fantastic rangefinder, just heavy and ugly. By the way, I also purchased some cameras and lenses at a couple Kitamura stores. They have great selection and prices. Some shops in Shinjuku were WAY overpriced.

The value of the Yen relative to the dollar is in the toilet...should be a steep discount provided you pay with a credit card in your home currency.

This video should be called. Join me while I complain about everything being very expensive, when they are not that expensive lol But on the serious note, I do wish I stocked up on all these lenses and cameras 12 years ago when I used to go to hard off or book off and I could get some nice lenses for 500 yen because they were all in the junk area. I still have some now which are worth 10 times the price of what I paid. I went recently to a hard off to find a canon FD 1.8 50mm going 7,000 yen, I remember getting my copy for 200 yen. I guess the influencers are making these old vintage cameras and lens is more expensive.. what can you do?🤷🏽
