What is the banjo tuning may i ask?
@AaronJonahLewis
@AaronJonahLewis 7 күн бұрын
gCGBD aka "old standard tuning" -- Before bluegrass the open G tuning that's more common these days (gDGBD) was called "raised-bass tuning."

That’s just beyond good. Thanks. I think that every genre of music will always be, simply because people have so much fun playing the genre that they enjoy the most. Ragtime is timeless and you blokes obviously enjoyed playing it and played it exceptionally well. Thanks again!!

Just think how ridiculous it would be if non European piano players stopped their performance to tell the audience the origin of the instrument and the race of its inventor... Or any brass instrument etc Just play man. Besides the word banjo doesn't exist in any African language. Comparing the American banjo to its African origin just shows how far apart they really are. Like comparing the Space shuttle to a paper airplane. The African instrument didn't have a finger board or frets or any metal hardware at all. A dowel with two maybe three strings woven into a stick frame wrapped in hide. Not saying they weren't or aren't cool or dont sound good. Just saying those are not American Banjos.

The word Africa is actually Italian. Check it out for yourself. A bit off topic, I know 😘👍

I love this arrangement! And so well played from all of you! I wonder what Grimshaw was thinking with those punctuated notes in the B part? I have never heard anyone play it like it's written(I also don't).
