Sir, this is the best presentation I've ever seen about where to live on the East Coast. I'm a Navy Veteran Hull Technician. I served under Carter & Reagan in the Cold War on 3 different Submarine Tenders. I'm turning 65 in March. I'm retired, not Navy Retired, just retired; I'm still trying to work on solutions to fund a better lifestyle, and I'm still in good health. I am listing my home for sale very soon, probably in the next 2 months, and I plan to go to Virginia Beach to purchase my next house. My wife is currently in the Philippines but should be here very soon. Immigration has been messing with us for years. My son is a retired Air Force pilot who is now living in Duluth. His wife, my daughter-in-law, is not retired (to my knowledge), working for the Secretary of Defense in the Pentagon, and is also a Major in the Air Force. I will be reaching out to begin our relationship this coming week. I have a couple of Navy friends who live there, and it will be so wonderful to be in a Navy area again. Thank you for your service and the excellence of what you do now. AWESOME!!!

23462- 15 minutes from everything! I’ve been since June and I love it! Family comes to visit and vacation simultaneously and we never really have to go far to do anything. Doctors, motor vehicles, court house, airport, fine dining, beach and fishing. 15 minutes or less

It's more crowded that it was in 1963, I'm sure. But it's far less crowded than any other beach town.

I wish you hadn't made this video. I'm a Virginia Beach resident since 1963. This town is already overcrowded and traffic everywhere is horrendous. We don't need any more people moving here! You must be a real estate agent or a developer. Thanks a lot!

I’m worth 23 million and my wife was from that area. Brown nasty water, brown nasty people, parasite populations, shitty waves, alligators don’t hurt me, ski with alligators daily, golfing in va s hot and windy, water comes from Kure lake, portamouth, Norfolk, Richmond barely has snow, the Gulf Stream is hundreds of miles off shore to fish, the Chesapeake bay is a big feeder of mud and nasty, there is no elevation like he is saying that makes a difference, people are poor, lots of rainbow flags, fishing is gay, traffic and tunnels are retarded. It is cold and windy in the winter.

Nice video, man! I’m here a couple times a year as I just started working for Military Sealift Command and I like the real estate market, but I’m still learning the area. This video was super helpful. I got to the end of your video. I flew as a navigator for AFSOC in the USAF. Prep for the flight was MASSIVE. The flight would live or die on that prep.

Check into a low tax area. My parents 3,400 sq ft home was $8k / Year plus another $1200 on their 2 cars for "personal property tax." I lived in Great Neck 15 years and before that, Alanton. We went to TN.

Every state has landlocked areas. If you're into that sort of thing, I'm sure Tennessee is a great choice. Also consider Iowa, Kentucky, and West Virginia. 😅

I am looking into moving to Virginia Beach from Celebration, FL. I am a teacher needing a good school district too. Does Virginia Beach have a walkable friendly safe main town center?
@willlayton70797 ай бұрын
Yes it does. And it's called... Towne Center. It's about 10-15 minutes from the beach. Virginia Beach used to be Princess Anne County which means that it about the size of a typical county and much larger than your typical city. Think of it as having multiple towns within a city. So there are several different centers of town.

I like the same beach you like for how bipolar it is. You can go there one weekend, and the water is smooth and calm. The next weekend, the wind is blowing from the north, and you get impressive waves that pound the shore and spray you with mist. The next weekend, the tide goes out far enough to expose the sand bar, and you get your own private island. And then, the next weekend its calm again. I go there alot, and its a different beach every time. Also, the smell of campfire smoke from first landing park, mixing with the salty air in the evening is somthing else. There is also a restaurant that you can hike to and access from the sand.

depends how much money you have like anywhere
@livinginvirginiabeach9 ай бұрын
But Virginia Beach is not like anywhere. If all you're looking for is a place to live, then anywhere will do. There's nowhere else on the east coast that gives you salt water, waves, beach, boating, fishing, wildlife, and lack of crowds in a state's largest city and within 20 minutes of an international airport.

I found Will’s older videos on Virginia Beach when my husband and I were considering a move to the area in 2022. Will helped us buy our first house when we relocated to put down roots in VB! It’s a great area and Will is a great realtor to help you find the right home.

First, Will did an outstanding job helping us find a home in Virginia Beach after escaping Southern California. He is terrific to work with and very knowledgeable about the area. Second, he really sums it up beautifully with this video! He is on point with what a gem of an area this is. We couldn't be more pleased to be here! We are very happy with our decision to settle in the southern Virginia Beach area.
