What is the point of running the software in demo mode if it never starts unless you have a controller connected ? How do You demo this software?

It's sooooo anoying to see a video on machining only to have music take over all the much needed sounds of the machine etc.

Your video is amazing but how do I send it to the machine this is where am stuck at the g code
@helmut666kohlАй бұрын
Turns out that "conventional" really is the magic word here. Just tested it with some 3€ Aliexpress single flute (for alu / plastic milling) and it works just dandy in some PE cell foam (the white stuff you often get in electronics packages). It also helps to crank the travel rate way up and plunge deep - otherwise the foam will be displaced rather than cut. For my 500W 3018 it was 1400mm/s X/Y, 800mm/s Z and 12000 spindle and going in 10mm at one time.

Dude, move the origin in a half inch and set your reference pins. Don't try to confuse things by living on the edge of your max work envelope.

This will work only if you are using the same tool in all tool paths. Thanks

Does the final pass take out the vertical tab cut lines….it would save a lot of sanding if so!!!

I have the older Q model, whats new on this one? I see linear rails and are those servos? that would be a great update!
@HybridWoodworksАй бұрын
How do you like it? Debating this or the Avid. NEMA 34 closed loop steppers and possibly a stiffer frame look like the big changes.
@paulusandronicusАй бұрын
@@HybridWoodworks Hi, the Q works pretty good and their customer service has been really good (from our experience with them), we actually set it up with a different spindle but after we did that we wished we just got the complete package. I think the biggest issue we had was that the long axis (Y?) has two motors with 2 ballscrews, which is actually the right way to do it but the way they kept them in sync was with these optical sensors which were a problem and caused a lot of random errors but to be fair their customer service was great and they sent us replacement parts (upgraded from optical to magnetic which worked miles better) and helped us install them and calibrate them. So the new updates should make the machine much better, using those closed loop motors likely eliminates the need of these sensors. We have cut all sorts of materials with our machine from aluminum, to wood to plastics, no problem. I think also they are upgrading the spindle to 7hp? that would be nice specially for cutting metal. We were also thinking about getting the AVID since the frame looks good and they use some beefy components but the assembly and the use of rack and pinion on the long axis turned me away from going that way.
@HybridWoodworksАй бұрын
@@paulusandronicus Thanks. Great info. And yes, it’s a 7hp on the new model.

We will be releasing more info and specifics this week on the machine. Also please reach out to us and we would be happy to schedule a virtual demo with you - 203-556-1856

@@StepcraftInc Is there a chance in the future this could be extended to 10 feet? I do a bit of slab flattening and this would be a huge benefit.

Followed along with him as I did my very first 3D carve. I noticed one particular thing while rough cutting. There is no depth adjustment (passes) like there are on PROFILE. It looks like it falls back to the tool data for PLUNGE depth. My roughing passes were a little deeper than I would have chosen, but it worked fine. Thank you for the excellent video... it helped a lot.

Hmmm I thought I got it working, but no. When all done, and finally pressing on "Cycle Start" the spindle does not start up. Please help!

As usual I solved the problem about 10 minutes after posting the above question. In the plugin I had "Auto Zero" enabled! After disabling it, everything started working as should.

Nope, tool length offsets are different from work offsets, using work offsets is a workaround for machines that don't have tool length offsets .. but that is not what work offsets are intended for.
