Does anyone know what happened to Paul Dooley's AFL career after this? I can clearly remember this moment, but I don't remember much else about his career. He came to the AFL from VFA club Williamstown after having won the JJ Liston Trophy there, and prior to that he was a student at St. James College. I was in the same year level as him. We were in the same class for at least 2 of the 4 years that we were going there together.

I think the fact that Alan Joyce a premiership coach from just over two years prior was available played a part in Wheeler's sacking.

Some of the efforts of the callers during that game, love the different combinations from the commentary team. One of the most exciting passages of play and commentary in a finals season you'll ever see imo. BT still the 💯👊😎

Ian Robertson was the most annoying opinionated angry old man biased commentator channel 7 ever had. For someone who was a play by play commentator managed to aggressively and angrily push is opinion into most exciting moments

I'm a South Aussie through and through so I have a lifetime of not liking the Vics (though funnily enough I support Essendon. Go figure 🤷♂). But I always had plenty of respect for the Vics, especially Ted Whitten and his passion for State of Origin football. He actually won respect from South Aussie's when he took a lost bet to Ken "KG" Cunningham like a true champion and wore a South Australian jersey in Rundle Mall in Adelaide after we beat them in 1993.
