She hears the orchestra hired by her mother and father playing with fervor, but she does not feel compelled to return. No, Charlotte is content to dance by herself to the muffled noise, although her only partners are the babbling voice of the fountain and her own shoes against the stone. Truthfully, she's running from older Lords who wish to marry a young, first-born princess, but if anyone asks, Charlotte just needed a bit of air. That wasn't fully a lie. The party was stuffy, but more in demeanor than air quality. "Are you meant to be out here?" A deep voice cuts through her serene moment. The prince of the neighboring kingdom was leaned against the entryway, a smirk playing on his lips. Had he seen her just now, prancing around with all the gracefulness of a possum in an attempt to mimic the ballet dancers she had seen as a child. "Your Highness, I-" She began her apology. She wasn't sure what she was sorry for. "May I have this dance, Your Highness?" Charlotte had been expecting anything but that.

She hates dancing. It’s not that she’s bad at it. Well, she is *terrible* at it but the men around her had quickly overwhelmed her and it is only thanks to her mother that she was able to escape the ballroom. It’s meant to be a celebration. One of their victory. So…. She should be celebrating too. Then… why does it feel like her world has ended the second she looked at the balcony? What he does is none of her business, obviously. She isn’t the type to be intruding anyone else’s business. Yet… Why is it that when she saw that girl in his arms, she felt her body going numb even though it’s a warm night? She pressed her back on the hallway wall, taking in a deep yet shaky breath. Many things going on through her head yet that image of the two remained. Oh how she wished she wished to be asleep again.
