Nice tour! You had a lot to share, but we couldn't always see things in the video. When you would say "See . . ." the person holding the camera needed to move off of you and onto the garden itself. I've been following your emails for the year, but unfortunately I've not been able to garden myself. I am hoping that next year will bring less interruptions in getting my garden set up. I have been enjoying the information you have been sharing in the emails and hope to review them during the winter to get ready for next year. Where did you get the hemp that you are using as mulch? I subscribed to you KZbin Channel

Thanks for the feedback! We're still figuring out how to do this 😁. I got the hemp straw at Tractor Supply. I can't wait to hear more from you. Thanks for being here and a part of this journey

@@createmygarden awe do a lot of eggplant and tomatoes in ours as well! For the pumpkins, grow one every other Garden Grid square to give them space. Looking forward to seeing them!

What a great video! I really appreciated how you showed the practicality of companion planting - in action! ❤ Thank you! Where do you live? I am in Alabama and we are hitting 90-plus degrees already. But I am not deterred. 😅

Shoot if I waited till it was over 65, the getting season would be six weeks long.
@createmygarden2 ай бұрын
So hard! It means that you are able to grow cool season crops for most of the year. If you use a container for your warm or hot season crops and pull it close to the house and add plant cloth, you could extend the season.

Why not just plant marigolds they return every year
@createmygardenАй бұрын
you must live in a climate that the marigolds can survive the winter. where i live, marigolds die in the cold and are annuals.

I use red pepper flakes to put around plants that are being eaten by little critters, like squirrels and skunks. Those types of critters do not like the smell or the taste of pepper. If they don’t like the smell, then they will stay away from that area and move to a different part of the yard.
@treelee26682 ай бұрын
OK thanks we don't have squirrel at here and I don't know pepper flakes too😂

How do you prepare them after harvesting
@createmygarden3 ай бұрын
I add them to a hot frying pan with avocado oil and keep stirring until they almost blister. Then I add salt and eat! So yummy.

Is this for four footed pests?
@createmygarden3 ай бұрын
This works well for critters like skunks and other animals like that. I haven't tested it with dogs or cats. For cats I have a couple of tricks including using old cat food aluminum cans filled with water. The cats didn't want to hang out in the areas where they might have food. Hope this helps!

Will it kill goats head?
@createmygarden10 ай бұрын
Thanks for the question. Goats head is a type of weed. Good Nematodes help to eradicate harmful insects like grubs to a veggie garden. They don't help with getting rid of weeds as far as I know.

You should get ladybugs! They will destroy those aphids in no time!
@createmygarden11 ай бұрын
Ladybugs are so effective. Great idea!! Plant native and pollinators to keep aphids to a minimum and ladybugs more populated.
