Both sand and gravel are about 6x less dense than lead shot. So unfortunately this is not realistic. Bismuth could be a less toxic alternative as it's density is very close to lead.

Thanks for the advice William! There's something special about freediving no fins that the other options somehow lack. Keep up your great work for freediving!

Typically lead shot, stainless shot or punchings are also okay to use though will increase the overall size

This is awesome. I’m just starting out in no fins. Any tips on how to duck dive with a 7mm suit? I blow so much energy in the beginning.

Remarkable, 144m with no fins. To think I thought I was doing great with a 25 meter underwater swim. Respect.

I did about 95 meters (passed out 5 meters from the wall) back in high school unassisted. With fins, probably could have done 200
@karimbauer8720 Жыл бұрын
First 100 are easy. Just like most people can learn to hold their breaths for 5 minutes within a day Everything else gets way harder for various reasons Also Fins make you go more maybe 10-20% , not 100%

Swimmer in front is working harder. Compare with formation flying of geese. They should have more lanes separating.

Smooth and calm with efficiency equates to a long distance. I was the underwater champion in my area. Everyone had up to 3 breaths to my 1 and I was still undefeated. Even then after 5 minutes all had given up I was still in dream land and still cruising as I would be laughing which helped put off challengers. I could do 2 lengths without flippers, I would do one and a quarter laps literally thousands of times, one half a larger number of times. Turning wastes a lot of oxygen. Wish I belonged to a club I think I could do 3 laps in a wet suit with medical observers and practice. Anyway was undefeated.
