On my Zlin 242-L it's the FRONT half of the canopy that moves, and it slides FORWARD. Quirky in that Eastern Bloc way and lots of ventilation during ground ops. But the POH mandates a closed canopy when airborne.

The Tiger canopy can be open in flight up to certain amount (about 12inches ) indicated by a placard next to the canopy rail and with speed below Va.

Great flight. Thanks for your video. Why did you need to add a quart of oil. Did the Lycoming 360 burn a quart of oil on a 300 mile trip? And is that normal?

I don’t know if your still active anymore but I am 12 and I want to be a pilot. I live in Tiverton Rhode Island and I can’t imagine how beautiful it is just to see everything from the sky inside of an aircraft. My favorite plane is the (Textron Aviation) Cessana 152! :)

How did the flight go?
@cal7875 Жыл бұрын
It might be the camera angle, but it looks the flaps were not retracted during the climb out on the Go around. If that was the case, using a clean wing approach on higher wind situations might be more prudent, runway permitting.

You ough to take a look at the 172 loading figures. There is not much in reserve but plenty if you follow Cessnas peformamce fiigures..I suggest you get a copy of the notes for the 172 and a prayer wheel. We don't roll 172,s into negative G. Mr. Cessna says NO read the manual.Keep in mind its a GREAT aeroplane and used across the world in thousands by sensible pilots.

She needs to hold her arm and hand rigid against the negative G. You were achieving the zero G and she was feeling it. Trouble is, her arm was also levitating due to the zero g. She needs to keep her arm and hand rigid and fight the arm movement of the zero G using her muscles. Then, the sweets would levitate relative to her hand.

Nice job Mate, I like how you let your speed build just after liftoff and you kept the centerline nicely during landing, well done Sir. You’re brave for taking her up on a day like that. Good job wrestling it in… did you have 10 degrees of flaps down around the pattern on that go around?
@ArtMJenB3 жыл бұрын
I cant remember if the flaps were fully retracted on the go around. I remember being pretty busy with the controls and dancing on the pedals so its possible I forgot about retracting the flaps. Many of those details are lost during the video editing and won't show up in the final clip
