If this fight went beyond 3 rounds, Volkanovski, who had 12 days' notice, might be affected. Going beyond 3 rounds can be tough without a full camp. However, the fight got finished with a head kick knockout in the first round, and that kick was intentional, not accidental. So, there IS NO EXCUSE of short notice. This is a solid victory for Islam Makhachev. - Joe Rogan. Actually, it was Volk who was supposed to Ko Islam in the first round. It was his only chance. Islam beat him in his own game.
