Im so confused 😕 i cant find nothing else on it..other peircers love to gatekeep.. can you make another video or explain it a little betted? Hey there, Dalton. I hope you don't mind if I have another question for you. On the subject of liquid culture. I'm interested in saving what I don't use. What's the best way to store the culture? Does the liquid culture last longer than if I inoculate a grain bag and keep that? Is there any such thing as long term storage? I guess spores? I don't trust that access to medicinal mushroom spores will be available on the open market forever. Recently I heard of mushroom chocolate making some people sick. That's where it starts. Thanks Dalton. Do you have an account set up so I can shoot you a gratuity for helping me with your advice?
@daltoncowan41049 сағат бұрын
You may make a donation via PayPal to: [email protected] if you wish, but the answer is simple. I’ve kept liquid cultures in the fridge for 2-3 years and used them without issue. They may also be expanded to agar plates. But since you asked for the BEST way… that would be on agar in a slant. They’ll keep for many many years this way.
@douglas96072 ай бұрын
I've got a mushie question for you. About culture syringes. I'm new to growing mushrooms. I've already killed two grain bags (from North Spore) by putting two full syringes in each bag. That's 24 ml per bag. Needless to say I made soup. My question is when I get my culture syringe (not spore syringe) there is one tiny piece floating around in there. Is there culture in the rest of the solution or do I need to break up that little piece in the syringe and try to get actual pieces in each bag? Greetings from Maryland. It looks like you are in the Carolina's I'm guessing?
@daltoncowan41042 ай бұрын
@@douglas9607 I am, and I would always do 2mL per quart. Shake the syringe to distribute but it will still be in the solution even if not visible.

@@daltoncowan4104 I just got the syringe from ITW. This syringe is a lot different than the other syringes I seen (in my limited experience). Could you describe the tissue removal after the punch a little more? Why is it necessary, and how do you determine the way to grip and remove the right tissue? I can't imagine you just go into the biopsy hole and just start ripping random tissue out.
@daltoncowan41049 сағат бұрын
It’s a very obvious little plug. I just grab the top of the skin with hemostats and pull it out in one quick motion. Failure to remove the tissue may obstruct the path of the jewelry and could result in the jewelry not sitting in the flesh properly. Necrosis of the severed tissue is also a risk, which could lead to infection if trapped inside.

Mushrooms are an interest of mine lately. I am extremely deficient in VitD, and cannot get it from mammal products ( I have Alpha Gal Syndrome) Time will tell, but it would appear that home grown foods will be the new gold in the coming days. Next, as Alpha Gal Syndrome becomes more prevalent in our society (and it is skyrocketing) those affected, and their families, will be looking for Vit D alternatives, meat replacements too. There are vitamins that profess being safe, yet they are absolutely not. Fresh grown mushrooms haven't come in contact with mammal products, may well be my next step. I can see the market for mushrooms picking up in the near future. If dried mushrooms retain VitD, then that too might be a good selling point. Whatever you do, I will pray the Fathers will in/for your life.
