I always thought Nora Brockstedt looked like two different people between 1961 and 1962, but maybe that was just the difference between wearing a national costume and wearing an evening gown. Marion Rung, however, is a grave omission. (Still love this channel!)

I think you're right. I'll add when I do an update. It amazes me how old the performers all looked in the 60s, 70s and 80s. They all look like high school maths and science teachers. You look at them and think "42" and then you find they are actually 23. Crazy.

My favorites from this category have to be Anna Vissi and Xandra, they look like 3 different people everytime they competed hahahahaha Hell, Xandra even changed her name all the 3 times HAHAHAAHAHAH Like, Carola and Evridiki look very different all the 3 times, but you can still see it's them. If you showed me Anna's and Sandra's songs and told me they were different singers I would totally believe that. Different styles too, that's impressive. But when it comes to songs, Evridiki. I loved all her 3 attempts and they all deserved better, all in my personal top 10s and she was my winner in 1994

and some of them appeared as backing vocalists in the later editions of the contest, take Gary Lux for example, he appeared as a backing singer to Tony Wegas in 1993 and a pianist to Stella Jones in 1995, whilst Lia Vissi was a main singer in 1985 and then as a backing singer to Elpida in both 1979 & 1986 alongside with Evridiki, Al Bano as well, he appeared as a lead vocalist with his wife in both 1976 & 1985 then as a backing singer to Jane Bogaert in 2000 and so on

I'm still not over 'Grande Amore' not winning. F*ck the Eurovision juries.
@theeurovixen23 күн бұрын
It's definitely difficult to accept some winners. For me it's "Toy". Cyprus should have won. Imagine if a male sang "you stupid girl". There would be an uproar. I also think ESC can't decide if it's the best song, the best singer or the best performance - and that can be 3 different songs!
@dimidrugg959223 күн бұрын
@theeurovixen My issue isn't that 'Heroes' won that year. It is that juries are supposed to reward quality, but for some reason, they thought that 'Heroes' was by far the best song while 'Grande Amore' only the 6th best song in the 2015 grand final. It is an obvious fact that Eurovision juries are being instructed to vote for professionalism instead of actual quality. They should be reformed immediately.

I'm so glad you enjoy my videos. Please subscribe if you haven't already. It really does help. Sometimes it is a real challenge. And I often use Wikidata to access the wikipedia page in the singer's home country because it often has more information than the English version. I've read magazine articles, listened to podcasts etc. Maria Christian was just wikipedia - the children's names are: Emmanuel, Shannon, Brian, Stéphanie, Tara, Molly and Emma. Specifically, Semiha Yankı, the Turkish girl whose brother died after an acrobatic accident, I had to translate and read a magazine article. Wikipedia said he died in an accident on a flying trapeze. Totally wrong, he was doing a head stand on his father's head and slipped and fell onto his head. Tragic story.
