Glad you enjoyed it Tom. You can see them dismantling the inside of the cafe while I was filming which was a bit sad. I spent so much time there, I felt it should be remembered.

Hi Stuart, I am in California but originally from England. Moved with my parent's when I was a young girl to Canada and then to USA. I am not a musican but did take some lessons a long, long time ago and just took the lessons for a short time to learn basic chords. However, I am a huge folk/acoustic music fan and always searching on KZbin for obscure folk artists. British folk I am a big fan of Richard Thompson, Fairport Convention, Sandy Denny, Ralph McTell, Allan Taylor and so many more! How about you? Have you been playing a long time? Did you have a lot of gigs, clubs you played around UK?
@innermist4 жыл бұрын
@@suzannelawson9215 Hi Suzanne. Oh wow, a California girl ! I love that you are a 'folkie' as I recently discovered a new Scottish folk band called Snowgoose. Do you know them ? I can't stop playing their CD called 'The Making of You'. It's only their second CD, their first one seems to be completely unavailable unfortunately. Check them out and let me know what you think if you would like to. I'm not a gigging musician, only played our local folk club a couple of times, as well as at a local spiritual centre here in Guernsey, Channel Islands. I play piano mainly now, and not with Pauline as she no longer appears alive to my wonderfulness ! If you would like to be friends on Facebook that would be lovely: facebook.com/innermist

Hi Stuart, I just added on your Facebook. My name is under Lin I believe on Facebook. I have a loaned Tablet that I am using as my old laptop needs repairs, so using a borrowed one that doesn't show my name. Once you add me to accept my request for friend, perhaps we can email one another? I haven't been much of a user of Facebook so hope when I went to your Facebook, I clicked on the right place. I know, just about EVERYONE hangs out on Facebook. I guess I'm one of the few these days, who doesn't. Hang out on KZbin a lot though late into the night on a zillion different folk music sites. 🎸🎸🎸

I can’t believe you can put a 50hp outboard on a boat so small and yet it handles it so well. I remember these back in the 70’s when I was still at school. I went on to have many lovely boats and great memories and times but never had one of these little gems 💎

Nice seafire you got there. I bought one 3 days ago, and I’m still busy with sanding. I do have a problem. I need a hatch that you put over the storage hole (the one near the engine) but a original hatch is no where for sale. The same problem with the original lever controls. Where did you buy those original things. I’ve looked for them but they are nowhere to be found. (Sorry for the bad grammer, I’m dutch)

Nice video. but why is an Apollo the first boat shown ? this is nothing to do with Almarine spitfires seafires or meteors. different company made them.
@innermist5 жыл бұрын
Phil, I try not to be too racist about it all ! If Apollo owners want to come along that's fine by me. The Apollo is a copy of the Spitfire, so pretty much the same design. As, in a way, we are all copies of each other.
@philldownes86855 жыл бұрын
How the f**k is that anything to do with being racist ? you mean boatist ha you'l have dopet protester types of people thinking these are a black mans boats and cause world war 3. .. and no ill Never in a million years agree that a spitfire and Apollo and spitfire are alike. .. there is a load of crap sprouted on the net about the original spitfire and apollos looking the same, that is pure myth that is now considered true. the original spitfire looks the same as a seafire just shorter, go fine a jet powered spitfire and you will see what I mean, the outboard version of the spire looks the same just with a splashwell, and only a handful of outboard version spitfires were made..... thousand of copys.. when Almarine were selling spitfires in 1972 at earls court boat show they were all jets, the outboard versions of almarine boats was the seafire , a larger boat that came in outboard and jet versions.. I owned 2 Apollo's. I got brand new in 72 and 1 I got secondhand in the 1980's. good little boats but crap compared to seafire.. the Almarine are like a Cortina gxl and the Apollo like a cheap old skoda Estelle ha ha and the cops are like a trabant... I wish I still had my little Apollo, wouldl ike to try and see what it would be like with 70hp on the back, I only had a 30hp Suzuki on the back and it was a wild ride .

I was works driver in junior class NA class inshore powerboat racing circuit from 1978-1981 we tried hard with both the racer hull and the basic two seater reducing the weight and various balanced set ups but as we were restricted to 10hp motors (Yamaha) although great to drive and brilliant in the rough it was under powered couldn't get them competitive, they were great boats and if there had been a 30hp class they would have been superb but the next class up was 50hp and was dominated by the Bristol hull (designed by Charlie Shepherd) which was 14ft long.
@innermist5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jabee Burr. Very interesting. Should have entered the 50hp class. Seafires go amazingly well with 50hp. ...Know of any old Seafires around for sale ? Find us on Facebook at : facebook.com/groups/AlmarineSeafire/?ref=bookmarks
