Just when I think there may be an intelligent Yank, I find I'm eye rolling to try and understand why one is taking me on a walk through corridors, and being rude about the exquisite taxidermy - btw most of those exhibits are more than 25 years old, and no more creepy than some leather shoes. Yawn. I guess this is what happens when someone comes to a serious country - he'd probably lose his mind to hear that the students in uni are being paid a student salary while they study... BTW it's pronounced O-Loo not OOO-Loo

I imagined how upset you were when you saw that all the underground passages had been repaired. I saw your joy when you found the only homeless person. By the way, where there is broken asphalt and street trading, this is considered a bad area. Only in Chisinau are you completely safe even in such an area, but in your hometown in a similar area they can be shot. I would like to add that in Moldova citizens can carry weapons. But no one has ever robbed you?

Poland is a Christian country and there is no Halloween in the Polish calendar. Those who celebrate it and dress up have no idea what they are celebrating or whose holiday it is. Halloween is a pagan holiday with pre-Christian, Celtic roots, which honors the evil spirits of the underworld, i.e. DEMONS. Since I am a believer and more or less familiar with other religions, each one has demons (for Christians, in Judaism and Islam they are called devils, Satan, etc. and the underworld is called hell). Whether consciously or unconsciously, by taking part in such fun (and for demons and hell it is not just childish dressing up and collecting candy), we are giving our souls over to the action of Satan (the demons). Satan knows nothing about jokes or fun when it comes to taking over a human soul, especially since someone gives him their soul (consciously or not) voluntarily during Halloween. It is just as dangerous a game as magic or summoning spirits. That is why for many years and more and more often in parishes in Poland the day before the Day of the Dead (All Saints' Day) processions and games of All Saints are organized, in which children or adults dress up as their favorite saints or their patrons and have a good time.Besides, I really like your film about the dawn of ALL SAINTS. That's what Poland is like and that's what Poles are like. In our Polish soul, in our nature there is always a place for the memory of our ancestors and those who fought and died for our freedom and independence. We do it even when they don't have their own graves. There is such a cross on the main alley in every Polish cemetery where you can light a candle for those who don't have a grave, for previous generations or for those whose graves we can't visit in person. Since I was a child it was a great experience for me to light candles under such a cross, as well as on the graves of soldiers and scouts who died in all uprisings and wars. Greetings to you

i got an airbnb in kontula and only learned afterwards from some friends that it's a supposed "bad" neighborhood. it's just a little rundown, but i didn't see anything weird or scary. then again i wasn't out past midnight, maybe that's it.

Kontula is not dangerous it's dangerous by Finnish standards. It's an area where there is lot of cheap and state/city subsidized housing. That tends to increase people in the area whom don't have their shit together. Alcoholics, Drug users, mentally not well people. That might...and I mean might do some stupid shit out of desperation. And of course lot of lonely single peoples tend to move in to areas where housing is cheap and thus has some problematic behaviour and in that Kontula has slightly higher crime rate than in rest of Helsinki. As there is a slightly higher chance of something bad happening. But no it really is not every day maybe not even weekly. I was a armored car driver when I was 20 and my main route was in East-Helsinki we emptied banks deposit boxes and restocked ATM's at night and for that 5 years that I was there nothing happened except all alcoholics and addicts came out every summer and all the did was had philosophic discussion about life and death because during winter one of their mates died. Which was more sad than dangerous. Me or my partner was never threatened even once. Actually when they saw me and my pardner most of them were extremely courteous and told us who of their mates had died and on what he was on. I have never had a problem with people like them because mostly they just want to be treated like human beings. Then there might be occasional less fortunate that is having an mental episode but yeah Kontula...safest slum/hood in the world

15:56 I'm not sure if it was sarcasm or not, but that symbol doesn't mean the funny Austrian Painter, it means the contrary. From the web Asianstudies "the swastika has represented benevolence and good fortune for perhaps 99 percent of its long existence, and will always be a part of Asia's cultural, historic, and religious heritage"... good video btw

This is a brief description of that the Nobel Prize winner did. Look at both of your hands. They'd be nearly identical except that they can not be superimposed due to a center of asymmetry. Many molecules have this feature and the 'left' and 'right' handed molecules can have extremely different biological properties. Also, there are advantages in non-biological applications for having molecules of the same symmetry. Making chemicals like this with pure versions of one form or the other is really difficult and separating the two different forms can be extremely hard to do. He found ways to make pure versions of many of these molecules. That has huge applications in medicine and in materials research. So, it has huge scientific value and value in medical synthesis as well as in making high performance materials..

The decision to drop the bomb was an example of what became known (thanks to Star Trek) as a real life Kobayashi Maru scenario. Life is filled with small versions of those scenarios. War is filled with tragic, large scale versions. It's a matter of, "You're damned if you do and damned if you don't."

The basement is real! You missed the most fun part, also called the catacombs. And no this is not a joke, there is a vast network of underground tunnels and rooms not open to the public, students, or teachers. They used to be open to more people, but are now mostly closed.
