They can do 6-mallet grip, but they can’t strike each mallet independently.

Hello, Charles! This is exactly what I am going to do in the first half of 2025. In addition, after June 2024, I will post a MV of my new 6-mallet solo piece Artificial Love in KZbin and I will make a short explanation of some mallet independence technique at the beginning of the MV. Please keep in touch! Please note that my multi-mallet technique works better on the Stevens Grip.

You need to make a tutorial for specifically independence for 3 mallet or 4 mallet
@rndlkb105 ай бұрын
I can do 2 in each hand, but I can't do 3 or 4 and not many tutorials on youtube for 3 or 4 mallets.
@YiukwongChung5 ай бұрын
Yes, it is difficult to find tutorials online. I initiated this multi-mallet independence technique last year. Hopefully, next year I will have time to write a detailed method book.

I can’t find anything online for 6 mallet technique, how do you manage that?
@Ohokk06 ай бұрын
no joke, just put it wherever it's most comfortable and spend a ton of hours forcing your hands to make it move the way you want. there aren't many established 6 mallet techniques, so unless you're in a drum corps and have a coordinator/tech teaching you a specific grip this is honestly the best way to do it.
@YiukwongChung5 ай бұрын
Google Kai Stensgaard. He makes a detailed KZbin movie about his six-mallet grip.
@Ohokk05 ай бұрын
@@YiukwongChung Robert Paterson also has a good in-depth article about his grip on his website
@YiukwongChung5 ай бұрын
@@Ohokk0 Yes, Mr. Paterson is a fantastic player. But do you notice that my 6-mallet grip is different from his grip? My grip is developed from Stevens's grip, like Kai Stensgaard's approach.
