Hey man. Quick question. Most of your models were done in a similar scheme. But what would you do for let's say a vehicles like a doomscythe my army is all similar but cobalt blue. I'm concerned that for larger vehicles this theme will clash with vehicles. If you were to paint a doomscythe for your own army what theme/color would you lean to?
@hubespaintshop3 сағат бұрын
Hey! Yes you are right, for my scheme, green on green or blue on blue works for smaller models. If I were to paint a doomscythe (I will eventually :D), I'd consider it as a 3 parts model. A big croissant, with 2 arcs and the center with the cockpit. I'd keep the arcs very dark, trying to sell an obsidian rock effect, and the center using my tainted metal method, with glow effects on the vents and panel lines. I hope you can picture what I'm saying :D. That way, you don't get a big blue croissant on the table.
@thejaptoolguyYT2 сағат бұрын
@hubespaintshop thanks yes makes sense. My fear is the whole army looking too blue or too green. I've loved batch painting the minis but now I have some larger ones to try. And my skills are for sure not as good as yours. I have two classic style monotliths I also picked up as a lot. But just as mind blocked on the scheme for those. I have them black primed and was just going to dry brush some steel and darker greens to get the blackstone effect. What do you think I should do on those two?

That's a really cool idea, I've already organised my playlists by factions, but doing 1 playlist per army list, with 1 complete list presentation video is something I'll look into... I'm not sure yet if people would be interested, but since the channel is young I can easily take the risk :) Merci!
@thejaptoolguyYT9 күн бұрын
Right hubes. Here's what has happened. I was scrolling KZbin one day and for whatever reason the algorithm gave me your video. I stopped playing and painting warhammer when the lord of the rings came out. Over 20+ years out of the hobby. And I watched one of your videos. Next minute I'm in a games workshop and I dropped 100s of dollars on a c'tan, a doomscythe and a combat patrol. Then the following week I'm dropping 100s of dollars on the paints. To then find your channel again. Which resulted in me essentially not needing those paints. I then go back to a hobby store and drop a further few hundred on an air brush and paints that you use. Now it's safe to say I have been hooked like a crack whore. So thank you I guess. But really for a while now I tried to find a scheme I like. And ended up with a similar scheme as you but instead of green a cobalt blue. Also wanted to say your edits always get me and add a flavor to warhammer videos that's acultually fun and not like I'm being lectured. For that reason alone I've subscribed and will continue to watch your videos. Now 3 things!!! 1. Can I ask you to paint a classic style necron the ones with the green rods. I'm curious to see how your theme looks on those. 2. If your broke also look into used models as they are actually fun to restore and make your own again. 3. Check out dark miniatures for proxy that are 1 to 1 with gw models. I believe they are Chinese based. But I got my wraiths and they are perfect. Aswell as some other stuff like a guass cannon. Love from new zealand
@hubespaintshop9 күн бұрын
Where do I start. Thank you, your comment moved me. Now I hope you won't go broke thanks to me hehehe! To answer your 3 points all at once: almost all videos until today were about models I needed to have at least one army to play the game. Now I'll start a new tyranid project, but I'll have much more room and time to search for used models, other mini providers, proxies etc.. I have a 25% discount on any games workshop minis through my wargame club so that's nice. But I've already checked dark miniatures once and they didn't seem to do the models I wanted at the time, I'll definitely check again thanks to you. I'll be creating a discord soon as a sharing space, I'm very much looking forward to see your cobalt blue necrons, I think it'll look really good! Thanks again for your kind words, welcome to the channel, and welcome back to the hobby ;)

i can ensure you its not your approach on the nmm. it doesnt matter if u start from dark to light or from mid tones, i for example start from the dark go directly to the highlight and do the mid tones after that. your nmm was just missing secondary and tertiary reflection. just look up how others place their reflections and your nmm will look great 😄
@hubespaintshop27 күн бұрын
You're absolutly right. I think part of the reason I didn't even think about reflections is the image reference I used and tried to copy, instead of just going for more natural nmm. Well, I'll try again with this in mind, with more confidence. Thanks a lot your highness :)

Can't comment on what I would have done because I am not nearly on your level. I am looking into getting my first compressor and airbrush though, got any recommendations?
@hubespaintshop29 күн бұрын
@@ryanberget8603 😅😅 well depends on what you want to use the airbrush for (priming and base coats, or details and effects). For the compressor, what you want is one that comes with a tank (constant pressure is better for mini painting). Fengda is a very popular cheap brand, and you can find lots of good deals on amazon for example. For the airbrush, the thinner the needle, the better at small details it will be, while getting more and more expensive. A $30 one will be perfect for learning. If you want to know more hit me up on instagram! Cheers
