Hello 😊👍 I'd like your opinion ! Do you think 95kg person is to heavy for this bike ??? Just for around town doing 50kmh & 60kmh not fast at all , local town speed limits , wouldn't be riding on highways at 100kmh or 110kmh no no 👎🙈 i want Honda CB125F to learn on & for around town for first 3months of riding , So would my weight of 95kg be a issue ???

Hi. Apologies for the delay. From my experience with the CB125F, I am sure it will be fine carrying that weight without any problem!

First time rider and I grabbed a honda cb125f 2013, doesnt have digital dash but I prefer that. The acceleration is more than enough and it goes the speed limit quite comfortably and the turning is super smooth. Definitely one of the best. Not to mention its honda so it holds its value well.

I clicked on this as I've started riding motorcycles in my 60s. I currently have a 110 cc scooter but am looking to progress to a manual gear bike. The Honda CB125F would be top of my list for the next bike but I might try and do a couple of years on the scooter first. Liked and subbed.

I've been riding the 2024 version of this for about a month now. My previous was a Lexmoto ZSB and that was a huge pain in the neck for maintenance and stalling when cold etc etc. This bike is a lot easier to ride and with any luck shouldn't have nearly as many maintenance issues. Haven't needed to swap the stock tyres either (the stock ones on the Lexmoto were hazardous to say the least, changed them within a couple of weeks of getting the bike to Metzler's).

Similar story with me, Paul. I'm 63 and after a 41 year interval from my last ride on a manual bike did my learner license test earlier this year. I've had 3 scooters over the last 10 years, but now that I'm confident at 60 mph the CB125F looks perfect for me. But I'll also keep my Suzuki Address 110 scooter, they are amazing little machines.

£255?! I was getting quotes of upwards of a grand when inquiring about insuring a 125. I live in London (albeit the suburbs) and thefts of small motorbikes is a big problem, but it's mainly mopeds as I understand it that get nicked. How did you go about getting your quote? Was it fully comp or 3rd party etc?

I'm 67 & just retired, i'm in the process of taking introductory lessons to ride a motorcycle, i haven't ridden a motorcycle at all, passed my car licence 48 years ago so i'm road wise, but i enjoyed the first lesson, struggled a bit going around the cones it's not as easy as it looks, at least i didn't fall off lol, got another lesson soon & then hope to take my CBT, just bought a brand new CB125F, looking forward to doing the CBT then going on my first solo ride, This video helped me a lot, i know a motorcycle is totally different to a bike but suppose it just practice till it comes second nature, how long did it take yourself to get used to all the changing gears & braking & co ordinating all that to ride smooth ?, once again thanks for the video really enjoyed watching.

I got my first 125 when I was 36, I'd say within a month it was pretty much second nature with the gear shifting. Doesn't take long to get used to either way. The CB125F also has that economical riding light which can help you get an idea of if you're using a non ideal gear at lower speeds too

Wow insurance for a 125 is expensive😮 maybe you are fully covered/comprehensive? That would make sense, in my Country its about €100 road license and Insurance. Good point regarding the Brand when it comes to holding its Value, although other Chinese brands can prove to be equally reliable and cheaper many people when they go to buy something secondhand the first thing they notice is the brand Name and almost everyone knows the big 4 from Japan😅. Another contender to the bike could be the yamaha ybr125, personally I prefer this Honda.

I brought this after my CBT. It is a great beginner bike, but as it's a 125 it obviously struggles at higher speed snd suffers in the wind, which for longer journeys can be a deal breaker.

This bike is actually quite fulfilling. I've used it for doing courier deliveries, shopping, commuting, leisure. On the A1, B roads, winding country lanes through the fields and woods with 60mph limits. I've found it can tackle everything British roads throw at it (although while laden a little bit better suspension might help with potholes and uneven roads). While riding to try and maintain that green efficiency light, stopping as little as necessary the fuel economy is immense even for a 125, 180mpg is attainable (as mentioned in the video). Although I found I started to think of it like my little tractor with the way the engine sounds and how slowly I was pulling away and stopping. So I let efficiency be damned and rode like I was being chased (within the speed limit) and it does actually have a somewhat sporty side to it! It handles being revved hard well, and with fast gear changes it can really pull all the way up to and beyond 40mph where it starts to show it's limitations. It works well in cities and built up areas, the best moments for me have been open country lanes, and I've even done semi-offroad on mud tracks and loose gravel, it handles that fine too, but again it will show its weakness with the suspension bottoming out when hitting an unseen hole or bump even at slow speed. If I could have this bike modified any way I like, I would obviously upgrade the suspension, have it a little higher, a little stiffer, less prone to bottoming out. And I would also like the gearing spaced out a bit, since I find the lower gears a bit short. A sixth gear could be neat for that too, I wonder how different the gearbox on the 125r is? People say there's no exchangeable parts between the two but actually they both use the same somewhat unique front sprocket, just with different tooth counts. I'm planning to try take my Cb125f solo camping in Yorkshire in the not too distant future, and I'm feeling really good about the idea.

Greetings fellow Notts resident ;) I Passed my CBT on August 1st and got a bike from new also. I was looking at the CBF125 Honda and also the YBR125 Yamaha, very similar bikes in appearance and on paper. In the end i ended up going for the XSR125 Yamaha (legacy in black) .
