On the rear, next time use your clamp to drop tire bead down enough to put a small piece of wood block between rim and bead. Do it a couple more spots to drop bead down on opposite side you are working on. Simulates you pushing the bead down into the dish portion and makes job easier. They are a beast to mount. I also use the Baja No Pinch tool and a Motion Pro Bead buddy to keep bead from stepping back up onto the rim. Soap and more soap. Compliments on video for no swearing ;-0

Being 70 years old I remember most of these on the showroom floor way back. Owned seven over time, mostly enduros and Yamahas. Unfortunately the vast majority of people that can appreciate and afford these bikes and parts in the video will be gone in about ten years. Sad but true.

I have a similar shop and am looking at doing the same thing, but curious - what happens during freeze-thaw if the loft is attached to the posts and then also attached to concrete? Since the concrete and posts float independently?
@CrustyCycle931719 күн бұрын
That's a good question. They did pour the concrete right up to the posts. So, I'm not sure the slab floats independently from the posts. At least I don't believe it's engineered that way. Also, in our region (Seattle ish), we have wet but mostly mild winters.

To me 125K is on the high side it should include interior paneling and a concrete driveway and all lights finished, garage door openers and probably HVAC for that much or less because you did some work yourself and it should have been turn key job all warranted. Check on that moisture on your new slab. If any problems they could say , we don't know anything about that he did the grading himself..I hope everything is OK with that . Thanks for posting. Yes all the other ones are hiding how much they paid and never answer such question if you ask.
@CrustyCycle9317Ай бұрын
I wish I could have negotiated all the finish work with the building construction because I'm still working on all that. At the time, it was difficult to even find a post frame contractor (supply chain, demand etc) and you definitely want one that specializes in that type of construction. That being said, at least here, the builders just want to erect the structure, get paid, and move on to the next job. So, make your best deal, get your shop built, and don't look back. Regardless of cost, you won't regret it. It's just money, we'll make more... And yeah, my slab is not the best. They used that fiber reinforced stuff. Steel reinforce no matter what.
